Stadium Dedication Game

Submitted by buddha on

My sincere apologies if this has been discussed before. I did some due diligence and conducted both a search of the MGoBoard material, as well as, the diaries but couldn't find a definitive thread discussing it.

I am curious if the UConn game is the official stadium dedication game? Now - I know that the UConn is the first game in the newly renovated/expanded Big House, but I didn't know if the official dedication would be Sept. 4 as well.

According to the Athletic Dept website, the original stadium wasn't dedicated until the very last game against OSU. Obviously we don't play them (or ND) this year, but could or will the stadium be dedicated at the MSU game?

Incidentally, the stadium dedication game in 1927 was not the season finale.  It was in October. Chicago was our season-ending opponent until 1935, when it became OSU.
