Spring Game: Snaps Under Center
Forcier lined up under center on a handful of occasions last Saturday. Mostly in obvious running downs, but I think there was a play action in there at one point where he booted out. This struck me as odd. Did Threet/Sheridan line up under center last year? I'm sure there were some short yardage occasions, but it seems there were as many plays from under center last Saturday as there were for the entire previous season. Did anyone else notice this? Is my memory bad?
Last year seemed exclusively shot gun. But I like the under center look too. It gives defensive coordinators more to think about.
Almost every game they took a few snaps under center. almost exclusively an I formation. Used a bunch near the goalline(not very often). I have always loved the fullback trap which they used a couple times to Moundros, but mostly it was off tackle and it worked best against Penn St. in the 1st half.
