Spring Ball to Partially Take Place in FL?

Submitted by Moe on

Very interesting tweet from Balas today, and I'm sure this will be something the SEC will try to shut down immediately.  Never even knew this was possible.

Several tell us Jim Harbaugh will have the 2016 U-M team spend a week of spring ball in Fla. https://t.co/b9ZGYRn6oO pic.twitter.com/c9EY3HaR6p

This would be during spring break, I assume?

Would we then take a break from practicing for a couple weeks and then start up again?  Otherwise the spring game would be around the middle of March.

Mmmm Hmmm

Many collegiate teams go to warmer weather for winter or spring break training trips. The difference with this is that it sounds like Harbaugh will use it to reach out to local/regional recruits. Sounds like an outstanding idea, especially as a way to build interest for satellite camps over the summer...

Don't think you will see the SEC be able to say much... Kentucky does something like this every year for basketball. LSU played games in Australia this past year with Ben Simmons on their team.

No football team has done this but their basketball teams do this often.

I know a player on the team fairly well and he told me the plan is for the team to practice down in Florida over spring break.  Supposedly Harbaugh will be mixing work with pleasure during the trip.  I personally think this is a great idea and great opportunity for the players.
