I think I read that they are trying to do a "green out" at the stadium for us. Maybe wearing those ugly green jerseys instead of the good looking blue ones. Kelly wants to wear the blue jerseys, though.

Lulz. I can't even remember which team I started to hate first; Notre Dame or the Yankees. It was around the time when I first started to learn to walk.
It's confusing; sort of like combing an SS uniform with Klan robes.
Still, the 12.4 million Notre Dame alumni riding the New York subways will probably enjoy it. Just don't tell the 13.6 million Notre Dame alumni riding the CTA in Chicago that "the Yankees" are the new sister MLB franchise to their school.

The fact that ND and the Yankees are 700 miles apart and no one blinks an eye at them teaming up is great. We all just accept that their arrogance and douchiness make them a perfect match. Does Duke feel left out?

Well, yes, they did, because Michigan literally invented the platoon system of having different players play on offense and defense that day, but it wasn't really because of the distance from Ann Arbor to the Bronx.

The more I look at this, the more I hate it.
I do think doing the Yankee pinstripe thing for a game at Yankee Stadium is a good idea, but the execution is way off here. They should have tried to incorporate a pinstripe element into ND's iconic uniform--but by making the base uniform color black, they just fucked the whole thing up.
If they had only done pinstripe sleeves on a normal ND jersey, or just put a pinstripe sticker on the gold helmet, or even did like a "pinstripe ND" thing on the helmet, that would have been enough. This look is way over the top and nothing about it says "Notre Dame" except the actual words printed on the stupid thing.
Who ever designed this would get voted off Project Runway for sure.

Good lord, what in the actual hell did I just look at? I really don’t get the need to reinvent the wheel, their uniforms are some of the most iconic, why screw with them to this degree? Subtle changes and accents maybe, but this shit is repugnant.

I don't get it. I really don't. This is just alternate uni's for the sake of alternate uni's. I have to imagine even most ND fans think these look hideous, unless they're also simultaneously a Yankees fan.
ND is one of those schools that should just stick with what they've got: blue for home games, white for away games, and then break out the green jerseys for either USC or your other biggest home game of the year.

Those are the worst alternate uniforms I have ever seen. Whenever this sort of thing comes up someone always says “but the recruits like them.” Does anyone else think this sort of claim is mildly racist? I also don’t think recruits give a hoot about alternative uniforms.

Yup, I mentioned these in the posbang thread. Those uniforms are butt ugly. I wish they would wear them for our game just because they would look so hideous.
I am from Queens and am a lifelong Mets fan. Nobody hates the Yankees more than a lifelong Mets fan. Fuck Notre Dame, fuck the Yankees, Go Blue.
