FEAST ON THE TEARS OF THE SPARTANSSSSSSS!!!

The Only Colors:

M defense too soft to stop a team we controlled
No surprises here.
Michigan won't go away
Kansas, please stop them.
damnit Michigan
just roll over and die already
And Michigan wins... wow
It doesn't matter if we win this. Nobody is getting past FGCU.
How did Izzo miss on all these FGCU guys?
We got this
Not if Curry spends the whole half burying 3s.
UGH!!!
Seems we always have trouble with guards who shoot well.
we're going to start hitting some 3s.
Need to pull a Michigan.
GOD FUCK DUKE
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Nope. Guys, it's not happening.
Plenty of time left
Let’s not get pessmistic yet
Please State, I'm not ready for this to end
This is painful
Really wish Izzo would recruit more pure scorers.
Ughhhh
Not even close to another NC… I miss Kalin Lucas every year that goes by we should retire his number.

And various gems on RCMB:

Damn You MSU
For the first time one of your losses left my 8 year old little girl in tears after the game. Not sure whether to be proud of her, sad for her, pissed at MSU, pissed at the refs, want to light some Duke gear on fire, kick a Dukie in the nuts or all of the above.
GO GATORS!
Otherwise we'll never hear the Walverines shut up!
This sucks
Fucking scUM wins and we lose? FUCK FUCK WHYYYYYY??? I FUCKIN HATE SCUMMM!!!!
Total bullshit
We're easily the best team in the B1G and scUM gets to teh Elite 8? Fucking bullshit.
NNOOOOOOO
FUCK YOUUUUU MICHIGAN!!!!
Wat does this mean for Harris?
Drake Harris?
Fuck how do we not win a Natty this year?
If scUM wins a natty I swar Im gonna fuckin kill someone
God damn I hate Michigan so much
Fucking Kansas.
Izzos got this. We are still better than scUM
scUM's in the Elite Eight and we're not. WTF.
Too old to riot
Any you youngins burning anything tonight? EL cops calling a tight game and squashing the flow?
I think this one sticks with Izz for a while
Never been more ashamed to be a Spartan. He's Duke's bitch.
Did scUM lose at least?
No.
FFFFFUUUUCCKKKK

Live coverage: Police in East Lansing respond to couch fires, other incidents after Michigan State's NCAA tournament loss

EAST LANSING, MI -- Police here are responding to reports of couch fires and large parties, among other things, after the hometown Spartans lost in the NCAA tournament early Saturday morning.

We'll bring you live coverage in the comments section below. Click here if you're reading from a mobile device. You may also want to have comments appear oldest first, so that updates show chronologically.

Michigan State's season ended in a 71-61 loss to Duke in the Sweet Sixteen.

MSU basketball losses and couch fires have coincided since at least 1999, when students and residents in East Lansing rioted following a Spartans loss in the Final Four. Similar incidents much smaller in scale have occurred since, in tandem with MSU wins and losses.
............,,
What a pitiful fanbase. And they lose and immediately start posting about us? Really. Sparts will spart. Lol

Sparty tears make me happy.  I'm going to pour a little salt in the wounds of my sister and step brother who are Staee grads.  Its mean, I know, but they'd be doing the absolute same thing if roles were reversed.

I'll never understand how or why people are so demonstrative. I have rooted for every B1G team this tournament on the hopes of strong conference representation. Majority of Spartan fans would rather "scUM" lose immediately.

MSU fans are deluded. In another MGoblog thread, they claimed no starter for Duke would make the MSU team. Then, in the reddit college basketball chat, they claimed that MSU had a "talented" team this year, that they lost "because of the refs"

Shut up with that garbage

Man some of those are rich.

"We're easily the best team in the B1G"

Totally explains how IU won the league outright.

"How did Izzo miss on all these FGCU guys?"

I PRAY that this guy was serious. Because if Sparty has Sherwood Brown they TOTALLY go undefeated. For sure. That was the problem.

"Never been more ashamed to be a Spartan."

Really though? Losing to a good Duke team in the Sweet 16 is the low point of being a Spartan fan? Please...

Loved it that Izzo's son picked Duke in his bracket.

I find the best way to acknowledge Sparty irrelevance is to ignore them. Pisses them off even more.

who loathes the little brother moniker yet decides to make "you off" t-shirts. The irony is palpable and the tears are plenty.

With any luck he'll be the last spartan to finish his career with a .500 record against Michigan. Whether he was eating his way out of a scholarship, picking a fight with Draymond Green, grabbing Cody Zeller's junk, throwing a towel at Appling in the huddle, getting arrested for stoned driving-getting named captain and starting the next game, laughing publicly when people suggested he should go to class, throwing a fit and leaving the team...He encompasses everything it is to be a spartan. Here is to you Derrick Nix.

...I'd be more embarrassed by my base's reaction to, and obsession with, "scUM" and at all the reprehensible behavior (dirty players, off-field incidents) than at any game results.

Sparties always brag about how their fans are only MSU alums and their families.  Yo, Sparty, there's a reason for that which goes beyond the "bandwagon" excuse you always fall back on.

I've always found most Sparties to be good people--likeable and friendly...until it comes to Michigan, at which point some severe psychological issues rise to the surface.

I enjoyed myself some Kansas schadenfreude. It was interesting reading thier comments about the nut punch and finally how much they appreciate that Trey Burke is POY.

for "Bitch McGary". I can't believe that Spartan Tailgate really represents MSU grads. The few I know are not that stupid, and they do know some about basketball. I was disappoint for the B1G that they did not beat Duke last night. 3 in the final 8 would have been a good thing.

Would you expect anything else from Sparty fans? The inferiority complex they feel towards Michigan is nothing short of astounding. I'm guessing they also can't stand the fact that they're not our biggest rival, their football team is walking on thin ice towards being shoved back to second-place in the state.

Oh yeah, and they've fallen flat on their faces in the tournament, the one sport they could always seem to fall back on, while Michigan has advanced further and has as good a shot to win a national title as anyone still remaining.

Sparty's always known that UM is historically the better b ball program (won/loss record head to head) and much like Dantonio with RichRod, they've enjoyed the spoils of a 15 year downturn in our b ball program due to (a) Ed Martin scandal, (b) scandalous Ellerbe hire (WTF?), (c) ADs allowing so many years to pass with our shitty b ball facilities.

But sadly for Sparty, all that has passed, so on back down to the corner of the table where Lil Bro usually sits.  Not saying we will sweep them every year in hoops now, because Izzo will still carry his reputation several more years into good recruiting classes, but the tide has turned much faster than anyone would have hoped.
