Sparty Hate Thread (Day 1)

Submitted by jsquigg on

Hopefully no one has started something similar, but this is the place for your Spartan hate mail.  Any stories about why you can't stand the green and white or their mascot or their ever changing tradition.

Half of my family (roughly) are Spartan fans.  I have no problem with any of my family regarding fandom.  The rivalry only gets as intense as teasing, plus I can't blame them since they live near Lansing and some have/are working for MSU.  Unfortunately almost all of the non-family MSU fans I know are the exact opposite.  It's gotten much worse since Dantonio came to town.  Before, MSU fans just rooted against Michigan.  Now they have a sense of entitlement.  It's gotten to the point where I can't wear my M gear (at least half of my wardrobe which I wear religiously, even when times have been down) without running into some sort of unprovoked conflict.

At least Buckeyes have their own state.  I'm sick of stupid arguments over our unethical coach, our quiet stadium, the fact that we only win because of our quarterback, etc.  I normally wouldn't promote harsh language at all (I don't judge), but I seriously hope the Wolverines beat the shit out of Sparty on Saturday.  Win by any means, but please Rich, don't miss out on any opportunities to run it up as classy as possible.

Please share your own Sparty hate stories below.

My favorite Spartan tradition is getting texts from these inbreds saying "Go State" despite the fact that Sparty wasn't playing Michigan.  I got 3 such texts at the conclusion of the State/ND game this year.

Time to dispatch these turds and start worrying about winning conference titles and not just games against State.

I hate MSU because my uncle sends my dad an email every year in November saying "Go Bucks!"  I also hate them because they refused to acknowledge the phantom second in the 2001 game.

I love MSU's fans, though, because they're always good for bulletin board material.  Oh wait, no, I hate them, too.

Go Blue! Beat those Spartan bastards and remind them that all 300 of the Spartans at Thermopylae DIED.

I was kind of disappointed when I heard gameday decided to go to South Carolina, but then I thought about it. I don't want Sparty getting a big head thinking they have some kind of national relevance. They got too much of that with the ND ending, aka their 15 minutes of fame. Two 5-0 Big Ten teams meeting in Ann Arbor. The Heisman front-runner everyone can't get enough of. Why would they not want to set up shop here? Answer: Sparty. No one cares about them. They have no relevance. I would love to beat them then have Gameday come the following week when we play Iowa. That would be sweet. (They will probably go to Auburn v. Arkansas, but a man can dream).

I went to the game with some fam, this douchebag jumps up to catch a pass his buddy threw somewhat near me on the way in.  Comes down with it and yells "interception, sirarean adams!"

First of all, I wasn't playing or his friend would have known better than to leave him hanging over the middle, secondly, if I was, clearly that would have been a reception, thirdly, I found it awesome that the best player on his team I had never heard of.  I later looked it up and found out it was their 4 star recruit from the previous four years of recruiting.

I was at a bar several years ago when Michigan was having their with MSU.  After one of the commercial breaks there was a reply from the previous year, of a state touchdown.  The table of state fans next to me started to cheer until I told them it was a reply from last year.  Quieted them up.

Junior Left Guard Joel Foreman-

"They're a good team, but I'm never glad that Michigan won. We're ready for next week, that's all I've got to say."

Treadwell on Dantonio's call-

We got the Paul Bunyan and we're keeping it."

I hate how they think their basketball program is better. I mean we have put more pro's into the NBA than MSU could dream and our players have made life long lasting impacts. The fab 5 is way better than any flintstoner nick names and look at how much better they have faired. Izzo is a slob and 3-line  just doesn't have his players for his system yet. It is a joke how they think they are a top program, everyone knows and thinks of Blue basketball when they think of top programs.

I, like everyone else here, hate the jealousy/inferiority complex thing cited by macdaddy above.

What I hate even more than that, are State fans who know nothing about their own history and mindlessly repeat the tired bitchings of those State fans who do know their own history (not that this makes it any better).

It's like always listening to your little brother's little brother tell his biggest brother why his 1st little brother is better than you are.

And if reading that annoyed you, that's what most state fans are to me- even less relevant than the real Little Brother...which is a feat in and of itself.

That Game Day is not covering this game, even with all the Denard hype, says it all.

ABC/ESPN lost a lot of money when the BTN was launched.  They're still losing a shitload in ad revenue to this day, and now a lot of other conferences are looking into copying the BTN business model... which will hurt Disney even more. Don't you think the lack of Game Day coverage has a lot to do with this?

It seems to me that ESPN is a major player in the SEC lovefest.  But whatever.  I've always thought that Game Day is retarded.

The guy what used to manage my trailer parks cousin was a Sparty....couldent stand that guy.  We was always out, you know workin on the truck and maybe putting back a 30 pack or two of Busch Light, and he would be over lending money to the manager for something or other (manager was a Wolverine fan, good guy and class act, real cool to fish with and always came over for the races).

Anyway, idiot cousin Sparty wasover helping  helping then guy out one day, and he came in when we was watching the race, and the moran didnt even know who Greg Biffle was LMAO!!! What a idiot!

I feel bad for the guy what managed the trailer park, he got fired not sure why. But he's workin down to Fulton now, got a pretty nice gig there. I might have to go down their after we spank Sparty and find out his cousins adress and go take a dump in his mailbox!

Go Bluuuuue!!!

instead of Woodley and David Harris, (among numerous others). I was pissed, and my Spartan friends/family just thought I disliked Stanton. While true, I also didn't feel he would be a very good QB.

Point being, their inferiority will not allow any rational conversation regarding anything anti-MSU.
