Somewhat OT Question Re: MGoAnniversaries

Submitted by chatster on

Is there an appropriate way to celebrate an MGoAnniversary? Celebrating a fourth year at MGoBlog . . . and it almost feels like it was just yesterday, and there was some other celebrating going on.

That's how you get the jacket?

That jacket is all I've wanted for years. I tried signing up to get the jacket, that didn't work. Heard a rumor you could buy it, so I sought out posbang threads to no avail. Got asked to mod the board, I thought surely this would be the key. The jacket eluded me. Now that it's clear I have more than a year left to wait I'm going to need to rethink a lot of things in life.

Make sure you tell your wife, boss, and close friends about your anniversary.  Let them know much time you spend on a college sports blog with complete strangers instead of them, and you have an anniversary date to prove it.  And unlike the one with your wife, you always remember this one because of how much it means to you.

Oh, wait.  Nevermind.

Just chug a beer by yourself instead when nobody is looking.

I had always ssumed that, like many business, you would begin to get the catalog at your five-year anniversary and then every so often after that, and that like most such catalogs from which to choose your anniversary gift, it would come down to the alarm clock that also displays the weather or the pen that also can be used as a laser pointer. If there is a jacket involved as noted above, I think that trumps both of those things, especially if the jacket can tell you the weather or also be used as a laser pointer.

Seeing as I didn't get a 5 year gift (not to mention my date is only a few days after my birthday), I'm expecting something quite nice for my 6 year MGoAnniversary this year from Brian and co. How about a "sexy mods of MGoBlog" calendar? What I wouldn't do to have LSA in a bikini on my wall for a month or two...
