Softball vs. Western Michigan - Open Thread

Not sure why there isn't one of these yet.. Game's in Ann Arbor on ESPN and midway through the 4th inning.

Jordan Taylor's pitching great so far, only allowing 1 hit, but the Western pitcher has stepped up to the task, making the score 0-0.

Dorian Shaw was inches away from a 3-run home run in the first, but it barely went foul. The bats have to wake up!

I believe it hit a car, rather violently. Might have been to the other Chidester, in high school.

I would like to say that that she is in much better shape than I remember her, or I've had more jack n cokes than I remember. Either way, those girls are excellent hitters, and conratulations are due.

not starting an open thread.  I was at both games today and the cell towers must have been jammed.

Here are a few back stories that you did not see on TV.  Hutch was angry and the female, plate umpire all night.  Hutch thought the umpire had too tight a strike zone.  Our girls were going after questionable pitches (Shaw, Lane).  Whereas JT couldnt buy a strike.  Now many of those batters ended up with a K anyway, JTs pitch count was higher than it needed to be.

The second backstory was the girls were very loose tonight.  They were cutting up in the dugout and cheering each other on.  I was watching them take BP atobu 7pm and Amy was dancing to the music over the loud speaker.  I started laughing at her and she looked at me and said "Opps"

It was fun to see the kids all having fun.  They know they have a long shot to win it without Kirkpatrick and Colie but it looked like they could care less.

Another backstory was DB.  I bumped into him in the asile and i asked him if we were REALLY going to use those jerseys for ND.  He just smiled and said, "Dont you like them?"  I then asked him about the helmets changing for ND and he said, "We'll see"

It was quite a moment when she hit the home run. The baseball game was in the 11th inning and had caught the attention of some in my section--we were turned around peering over. Baseball put it away, the team exploded off the bench to celebrate on field--and then five seconds she slams one and the softball stadium erupts. Kinda bonkers.

Healthy share of football players there. I think some of the baseball team filed in to see the last innings, too.

Glad to see the maize and blue doing well. The only part I caught was while working out this morning the game made the ESPN top ten plays. A diving grab by the WMU left fielder in foul territory. keep up the good work ladies!
