Snowflakes Thread: Defense

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

Stifling Indiana should be a nice boost hopefully. It's been fun to watch really today.

In any case, here's a thread for your various snowflakes about the defense and defensive playcalling.

made the defensive goals easier to achieve but we still got after them and played with some aplomb. The one thing you can't take away from this is the impact it will have on the next game, the team as a whole is going to be in a good mode come next weekend.

I honestly thought that IU would do much better against us today, but a total absence of a passing game turns out to be just what the doctor ordered.

I was at the last Indiana game, so QB injuries notwithstanding, a MAJOR improvement on defense! It looked like a team out there today...on both sides of the ball. Enjoyable! A word seldom employed this season

was the Indiana coaches keeping Coleman on the sidelines for much of the 1st and 2nd quarters.  Brilliant strategy.

Otherwise they played good against a terrible team with really one threat.  Hoorah!

A solid outing against a crappy team but it does give us something to build on. Definitely want to see more or Wormley and Mone.

I don't know that there's a lot to say here - we held Indiana to 183 yards of total offense across 49 plays, only 8 of which were passing plays.

Passing: Diamont was 5/8 for 24 yards, so 3 yards per attempt or 4.8 yrds per completion.

Rushing: We gave up 159 yards on the ground across 41 attempts, or 3.88 yards per rush. Tevin Coleman had 103 of those yards.

He had tough sledding against our D today with no support at all from his QB. The kid is going to be sore tomorrow. Our D played tough but IU was so one dimensional.

I'd be more than happy to name my first born Zander (sounds like a space soldier). Otherwise, the defense played well today. Nice to see guys like Mone get out there and have an impact.

This D wouldve been much better with Morgan in middle and Ryan outside. Bolden is killing us and Ryan is totally out of place at the mike . Kudos to Brian he was spot on.

only attempted 8 passes for 3 YPA. That looks good on the stat sheet.  I don't think any of us expected this dominating of a performance before this one started.
