Yeah, he looks phenomenal.  His body looks a lot different too.  He looks much more muscular, explosive, and powerful than he was last year.  I think he's just now growing into his body.  So glad to see him developing!

Magnum, couple questions from a person who Damn near threw the remote thru the bloody TV after Rudock's fumble:

Why did the 1st osu drive click so well?

What did we (or they) do differently after that contained them?

To my inexpert eye it seemed they just progressively went more & more away fom the things that worked on that drive as the game progressed. I'd like to think that's because we took those things away, but waiting for Spielman to demonstrate and explain how would be an exercise in futility!

That tall WR Villamin was barely seen again... the outside runs were barely seen again...the QB keepers as a result became less & less effective.

Again, it seemed more to me like they abandoned the things that worked than that we figured them out? But I'm a noted pessimist...

I need to append this a bit.

I just went thru the box score / play by play to see how the 48 yard loss on punt was treated and UM's defense was credited with a 48 yard loss - aka Utah's rushing yardage was docked 48 yards.

So it was more like 59+48 yards the rest of the game = 107.  Still a good job considering its a FBS opponent but not quite as super awesome as it looked on first glance.

Great performance by D. They adjusted well. I was very surprised by our LB play after the first series. Improved with a running QB.

Wormley is a Worm (I mean beast). He is the best.

Peppers made some nice tackles. He got speed. Once he understands the plays a little bit more, I can see why coaches love him.

I hope Lewis will be ok. We need him. Without him, I am worried about or CBs.

Overall, great performance. Icinig on the cake is that we stopped a spread team and beat them down.

Great job. I saw the week 1 to 2 improvement. Big time. Wish we would have played UTAH as the second game.

Hope Lewis is alright, but I doubt we'll need him next week. Make sure he's healthy before he gets back out on the field again.

All in all, great effort after the first OSU series, but OSU is a very young, inexperienced team this year. Loved seeing the DL get a lot of penetration today, but they'll have much stiffer tests in the coming weeks. Luckily, Harbaugh will make them better week by week.

That comment was a crime. BUT, Braden looked great pulling all game. Consistently made the right reads and made good contact. On Smith's 1 yard TD, Braden absolutely punished the entire right side of the field, both defensive and offensive players. He basically scored a touchdown by himself. It was a thing of beauty. I orgasmed. Looked exactly like it was supposed to look.

Jeremy Clark running past the play to avoid a block on a screen just about made me throw up. And Lewis tried to cut inside of his blocker when he was supposed to keep the ball-carrier inside on another screen.

But other than that, there wasn't much to be upset about. Wormley is for real. He was hugely touted as a sophomore and junior in high school, if people remember. Sort of fell off in the rankings by his senior year, but the talent and phyiscal gifts were always there. Hopefully Lewis' concussion isn't serious. He was tweeting during the game so I assume he isn't too banged up.

Wormley's problem his senior year was that many people believed he was taking plays off because he was so much better than the competition. Basically they said he was too good and too strong so he stopped giving full effort. But all the analysts thought he was a beast when he was playing to his full potential, as we're seeing now.

blocks in the first few OSU drives and clearly the Beavers had some fight in them coming out and running a scripted drive lasting 7 plays. Even in that opening series, Michigan managed a TFL by Wormley, who was clearly Michigan's most dominant defensive player.

Bolden and Peppers were very good and the secondary play got better as the game wore on. Clearly Michigan benefitted from facing freshmen quarterbacks. But it was nice to see a defense becoming increasingly more difficult to run against out of the spread. Second half, OSU failed to get an offensive first down and gained virtually nothing. That has got to be one of the most remarkable statistical dominations you will ever see, I don't care what level of competition. Michigan gave up less than 150 yards and the offense was a battering ram, making the defense job easy.

Remember when we used to make fun of TOP as a game factor. Well, choking a team with your offense and shutting them down when they rarely have the ball is a recipe for success every time. OSU had only a handful of second half possessions and gained a single first down by penalty.

I like to pretend that our Defense let Oregon State cut us first, like Fat Belwas in A Song of Ice and Fire, before closing in for the suffocating kill.  I am pleased with the defense today, overall.  Go Blue!

I don't know if he had help on the coverage but Jabrill got worked on that one OSU overthrow in the 2nd half where he followed the receiver across the formation pre-snap. He probably used that frustration on that vicious hit later in the game (wow that was a hit to jar the ball loose!)

I am very positive on the D's overall potential but there were a few big plays left on the field by OSU.
