Fair point, but if you think we are going to beat MSU, PSU, OSU, and slide by a couple of others I will take that bet. We may beat 1 of those 3. We are lucky to have Shea or things could be worse. I am accounting for the injuries too. They are starting to pile up early in the season. We need to get better safety play in a hurry.

Completely agree.

I just do not understand the offensive philosophy of Harbaugh. Either it requires a line we do NOT have, or is outdated and/or Harbaugh is too stubborn to adapt or simply cant, or its just plain boring and I'm just too stupid to understand high level football, seems there is something missing.

I'm watching this TCU / OSU game and the offenses seems creative. Potential for explosive plays. Outside of deep to DPJ, is there really any hope for Michigan's offense?

Then I guess you haven’t watched us play MSU once in the last decade.

The MSU team you’ve seen so far is not, and I mean NOT the same MSU team that will play us in November. You’re going to see a much better MSU team when we come to East Lansing.

I've never understood where all this false confidence comes from against MSU every year. They play poorly in the first game or two of the season, we get overconfident and think this is finally when they take a permanent step back, and then boom, we get outcoached or just outmuscled and overall humiliated in yet another loss to them.

Yes, much closer to 8-4, as in, will probably BE 8-4.

Winovich and Bush are the only impact players on defense. Other than that, we have a lot of overhype. Coaching included.

Way overpaid. We could pay someone a lot less to go 9-3/8-4 and lose to OSU every year. I would be very surprised now if he is ever an elite coach for us. The only question now is whether he lasts 5 years or six.

This has been a gripe for a while with me. Pick plays are part of nearly every team's passing attack. They are very effective and rarely get called as offensive interference. We are either so bad at them that I can't tell we run them or we just don't have them installed.

I'm with you.

I hate to be the kind of fan who complains after a victory, let alone a double-digit one. But this offense is . . . offensive. The play-calling is abyssmal, and gives the over-matched O-line no chance.

Shea Patterson threw only 18 passes today, against a defense that was selling out against the run, policed by referees who were calling PI whenever a DB breathed on a receiver. What a stupid game plan.

Wonder if Brian and his cronies are still gonna hate on Lloyd ball and DeBord.... I much prefer their offense, to this recent one so far... be careful what you wish for, in spades...

Did we run any screens or counter runs?  I think no to the first, and none to the latter, and instead ran a ton of draws into a wall....

This game reminded me a lot of Lloyd and DeBored, actually. The offensive those two should have been running the entire time only came into play for the bowl game against Florida and it was a god damn thing of beauty....and we've been asking for some version of it ever since and gotten only glimpses of it.

People will say "Why would you get upset about a 25 point win over SMU?".  Well count me in as one of those people that are upset with a 25 point win over SMU.

Because OOC games like this are a barometer of where you stand going into Big ten play.

Do we even look like we are on track to beat Ohio State in Columbus?  Or even Penn State and McSorely?

The barometer says big storm coming.

I’m not the concerned about coaching. In fact, when harbaugh choose to go for it on fourth, I thought that demonstrated his belief in his team. Shea is a gamer.

Big ten season starts next week. I expect more of the playbook to be implemented on offense. D got punched, but brown and co will adjust. Hoping we get Solomon back soon

Like the positive thinking but I disagree. We may well beat MSU (I think that’s the game they’re mostly focused on) but we’ll lose to PSU (air ball will Kill us and we get no pressure on QBs, just look at today), likely beat Wisconsin since Honibrook can throw and for sure lose to OSU - we have yet to stop a running qb that can throw. Unfortunately they now have what looks to be a really good QB.

This is is an 8-4 season. My hope is we actually do something in the bowl game and we HAVE to recruit better this year.

There are many in this "fanbase" who are an embarrassment. 25 point win and reading the threads you would think we lost by 25.

Keyboard coaches who were Pop Warner All Stars. Their High School coach fucked them and made them sit pine.

Sorry about the rant, but Jesus...

Last time I checked - they give scholarships too. Of course I see weakness on the team.

O line is sketchy (to be kind).

Playcalling was very vanilla.

Must stop the slant.

DBs need to adjust to how the refs call the physicality on coverage. (They didn't today.)

Weakness = opportunity to improve. Doesn't mean the sky is falling.

I need the Michigan staff to understand that THE problem is the offense. Stop running it when you have 10,000 weapons through the air and an accurately throwing, mobile QB. It's almost like Harbaugh is trying to impress Bo. Play YOUR game. 45? I'll take it. But this should have been 72-0.

Play calling is again terrible. D is throwing the house at you and you don’t run screens?  A high school coach could see that.
