Slippery Rock Articles
MLive has a pair of nice articles relating to the upcoming "home" game for Slippery Rock. The FIRST relays some of the history of Michigan's Slippery Rock fetish, while the SECOND pertains to Slippery Rock adopting special uniforms out of respect for Michigan's general dislike of green and white uniforms and those who wear them. While not a fan of uniformz for established programs, I think the special uniforms look good and tie in well with the "The Rock" theme.
Part of the stadium experience for many of us is awaiting the announcement of the Slippery Rock score, and this will mark the third time that the Big House has served as a home-away-from-home for Slippery Rock.

You say "tomato", I say "tomato", you say "tradition", I say "fetish" (or maybe I just used an unintentionally perjorative term). In any event, this goes here:

Those glasses are calling out to have dollar signs photoshopped onto their lenses.

"It's unbelievable that Michigan has given us this presence and recognition. The fact that we get to play on the same field as Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson and Tom Brady is an unbelievable feeling."
I was taken to the second game in 1981 because my parents - in particular, my mother - wanted to go and could not find a babysitter. They couldn't find one, of course, because our usual babysitter happened to be at the game as well, so there was that.
In any case, it's great to see these kids stoked to play in Michigan Stadium and hopefully Slippery Rock can put one in the "W" column on Saturday to top off what for them should be a memorable weekend.

The only problem I have is that GA tickets are $20. I can get 2 Michigan tickets for TWO COKES.

You wouldn't get tickets for 2 cokes either.

They've got this kid that runs like a bullet....900+ yards and 9TDs in 6 games ....a 148 ypg avg. Worth the watch!

This is exactly the kind of homey, quirky college tradition that I want to see protected. If it's DB's doing, I have to concede this one to him.
My neighbor got free ticket vouchers through the Ann Arbor News or Krogers or something, so I'll go and sit in the rain for a while.
