Sleeper Recruit

Just noticed on TTB that we have offered a DB from Virginia named Chris Holmes.  He is an NC State commit with meh offers and a consensus low three star (Max 2 star on 247).  Looks  a lot better than that on the film below - maybe he blew up in his senior year and was overlooked.  So far staying with his commitment until he meets their new staff, but if he decommits we are in a good position.

Also saw on a Tremendous FB post that a Nebraska commit, 2013 OL Dan Samuelson, visited this weekend.  I am all for snake-oiling Nebraska players.

So far Holmes is staying committed to NC State, and I sort of doubt he changes that stance unless the new coaching staff doesn't want him...and I think the new coaching staff will want him.

One of the things that I've discovered about these newspaper things is that if Player A is good on both offense and defense, and Player B is only noteworthy for defense, then sometimes they'll just list Player A for offense and Player B for defense.  That way they can include more kids, keep more fans/schools happy, and get less hate mail.

Every community I've lived in has always complained that the local newspaper is biased for THE OTHER school in the area, so it's a no-win situation for the papers...but I think they usually try to make as many people happy/interested as possible.

Can't say anything about this specific newspaper, but all the newspapers in my area choose all-blank teams by coaches votes... Which are very political in a quid-pro-quo sense. They never reflect the actual level of talent or performance.
