YO guess who's coming on the podcast tonight?

The Sklar Brothers are bringing their stand up show back to Ann Arbor for two nights and apparently they're big fans of the blog, so we booked them to join us at the Bo Store tonight! You're welcome to come by and join us if you're in town: 5pm to 6pm, 333 S. Main Street. Or if you're not you can watch on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/mH8sp_epUoY (we'll post the window on the site this evening when it goes live), or listen in later when we post the podcast.

Their shows are TONIGHT, Sept. 21, and TOMORROW NIGHT after the game, two shows per night (8 and 10:30pm) at the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase.

Who're the Sklars?

I mostly remember them from The Cheap Seats, the ESPN Classic show that ran for four seasons in the aughts. Since then the Sklar Brothers have standup specials on Comedy Central, Netflix and most recently on the Starz Network, and have appeared such TV shows as Curb Your Enthusiasm, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Entourage, and most recently, as recurring characters in season 3 of Better Call Saul.

The Brothers regularly fill in for Jim Rome on his popular radio show, and currently they release two podcasts a week: one about sports: View From the Cheap Seats, and the other about dumb people doing dumb things: Dumb People Town.

They attended the University of Michigan from 1990-1994. Tickets are available for the show by calling the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase or by purchasing them online here: http://www.aacomedy.com/zsep4.cfm

Cool story bro:  I had a couple of classes with Jason and Randy and they we're in my extended social circle in college.  They're good guys and very funny.

My wife gets sick of me saying "I know that guy" every time I see the Sklar brothers, Rich Eisen or Adam Schefter on TV.   There was also a dude that live on the floor above me in WQ (Bleiben?) who was on a bunch of commercials for awhile, but I haven't seen him on TV in years.

I’m still pissed at them for being such pricks on “Better Call Saul.”

I guess that means they did a good job.

Ok. Here’s my cool story bro. I met the Sklar brothers mid to late 90s, before they were big. At the time, I chaired the UAC program called Laughtrack which booked a lot of the major comedy events on campus. I got to meet up close Andy Dick and Jon Stewart. Well anyway, I was trying to get the Sklar brothers to open for Jon Stewart since he didn’t have an opening act yet. Sklar brothers were so pumped by the idea since they were still trying to make a name for themselves. It didn’t work out in the end, JS picked some no name to open.

Sklar brothers were nice guys. Glad to seem them doing well.

I find "Dumb People Town" to be very funny. Daniel van Kirk is a really nice balance between the two Sklars. That show really shines with some of the funnier guests. Jon Hamm and Patton Oswalt both have done recent episodes and both were very funny.

SKLARS

I love that they named a podcast after an obscure Joe Scarborough led O'Reilly Factor clone show that literally nobody would remember was even on TV without their pod.
