Wow. Guess she's in a predictive mood.

I wonder what Katy Perry predicted. When it comes to nuns and courts, she has a fairly decent record. ... coming up next, on American Idolatry.

Everyone needs to just tone it down.

She's a nice little old lady that is happy for her team (and knows her stuff too).  Good for her.  Of course she's going to cheer for them.

In two weeks it will all be over.

Yes, the media will make too big a thing of it to the point of annoyance.  It's what they do.

Do you think that there weren't people last year that got tired of hearing about our plane crash that wasn't really quite what you think of when you hear "plane crash"?

They went over the top with it.  And they'll go over the top with Sister Jean.

So what?  It's entertainment.

Let it go.

Sister jeans predictions and opinions don’t mean shit. Statistically they probably mean less than shit. It doesn’t factor into the game one tenth of one percent. It doesn’t matter

At the post game presser one of the reporters mentioned everyone will be rooting against Michigan in this game cheering for the Underdog. Let's use that as motivation not Sister Jean.

In all honesty, if Loyola Chicago was playing anyone but Michigan in the Final 4, I'd also be cheering for them!

One more thing, we need James Earl Jones to put out the video this week with the basketball team as representing the Greatest University In the Country!

I am a UM grad (LSA 2002) and an LUC law grad (2006). I have said for a long time that your heart is always with your college and grad school/professional school is just business. I never in my wildest dreams thought LUC would ever make the NCAA tournament, nonetheless win a game, nevertheless make the Final Four (although they did in 1963, a fact they sell you on during orientation), and certainly never did I think they would play Blue for a spot in the NCG. This is...awkward. But I love Michigan, and that’s where my heart is. Go Blue! Beat the Ramblers!

BTW, she's not significant for her role. She's significant (and it's cool) because of her age.

Every team has religious fans. Michigan has at least one Baptist pastor who roots for them. It doesn't affect outcomes.

Let them overlook Michigan this week. Let 'em.

We'll see what happens in San Antonio and I'm expecting a great game.

Outside of that, I don't get the vitriol being directed at a 90+ year old woman who loves her team. All she's been is class and, whether one agrees with her religious beliefs or not, she never asked for the spotlight that seems to have made her such a target for blatant and unecessary disrespect.

Seriously elated for Michigan heading to the Final Four but this ugliness towards her from some Michigan fans... It's beneath the dignity of the Coach and Team.

Like I said, though, the exposure isn't her fault. To my knowledge she never sought it so I can't be mad at her. And she's the team chaplain so she is focused on helping people: the team and other members of the program. I get what you meant but she's not there just as a fan.

Anyway, I appreciate your perspective.

Exactly. She's an elderly woman who is a passionate supporter of her university's basketball team. But she's not pointing the cameras at herself or sticking the microphones in her own face. It's CBS who's responsible for turning human interest into human over-saturation.

And let's imagine that sensible shoe is on the other foot: Suppose we had our own elderly nun ("Sister Whosis") who sang "The Victors" from her wheel chair after every Michigan victory.

Would we get annoyed when the camera cut to her at every opportunity, or would we think it was great that she was getting all this attention?

Give her a break, folks.
