What a difference a year makes after winning the B1G-West last season

"...Hawkeyes are now 5-4 on the season, with their three conference victories coming against Rutgers, Purdue and Minnesota"

One awesomely prepared drive that got like 70 of their 400 yards. I would like to see the D clean up the missed tackles. That and holding the edge with McCray and Stribling are the biggest red flags going forward right now. Every game is an opportunity to improve in those aspects, irregardless of opponent.

Given that it's in a hostile environment and Harbaugh seems to be in give-my-starters-practice-for-osu-and-beyond mode, I might take Michigan to cover that one. If I gambled.

Has it been confirmed to be Herbstreits game yet? Have to listen to the Buckeye that doesn't like us since we're good again. He loved Hoke Michigan, give the guy 10 more years.

If I remember correctly, we're 2-4 against Iowa in the last decade or so - I would say that the time is right to begin to reverse that trend. Kinnick Stadium at night has historically been tough, but a flailing Iowa team is probably a team that Michigan, playing as they are, should have very little trouble with.

You can never be too confident there.  Our track record there is not very good over the last 30+ years.

Also, hopefully we've learned something from the MSU game.  They were pathetic before they played us, and they were pathetic after they played us.

But when they played us . . .

You can count on one thing:  The Iowa team we see on Saturday night will not be the same Iowa team we've seen the rest of the season.

It will be a fight.

Iowa is a better team than Sparty and it's our toughest road game yet. Colorado and PSU might be better teams but big difference between afternoon game in AA and road game at night.

That does kind of show that the team hasn't really had a truly tricky game yet.

Wisconsin was tough, and would be tough ten out of ten games.

But to your point, we have not had a road game against a team that has won a single Big Ten game.   Not one.

We have not faced any true road adversity yet.

perhaps because it was so un-2016 in its low-scoring 'close game' ways. Wisconsin at home is a tough test but Iowa played Wisconsin pretty close just a couple weeks ago at Kinnick before succumbing. I think Iowa on the road at night is still - all things considered - the trickiest game yet. Because you just know they're gonna bring their best shot. We may not be Iowa's official 'rivals' but you know they loathe us and would love nothing more than ruin the possible undefeated season.

Not much better. Iowa has all sorts of issues.

MSU actually has better receivers. Beathard is why they have five wins and he is beat up. Their OL is poorus and their receivers are nondescript. Their defense is not nearly as good as it was last year.

If this game were in Ann Arbor I would expect a 42-10-type game.
