get ugly in a hurry. because the way it looks right now is that kathy is trying to hide something. and i hope that it took a lot of asking for them from shemy before he decided to make this a legal matter.

Man, hate to see this. I would have to think that something is going on if Schemy is pursuing legal action. Hopefully it is all a misunderstanding, but it doesn't look as such.

My parents (in Colorado Springs) have met Millie Schembechler, Bo's 2nd wife, several times around town. Even saw her getting a new Mercedes at the local dealership.

Said she's an utterly delightful person, wonderful to talk to.

Called my dad, said he'd misspoke to me, that he's met a daughter in law of Millie. He thinks she's the wife one of the sons from the previous marriage to Bo's, if he recalls correctly. I think there were 3 boys? I'm not too clear on the history of Chez Schembechler, so more info would be welcomed and appreciated.

Skynet, your punishment is just and fair and correcting. I'm duly chastened.

I don't want to get into it too much because I'll be dragged into an argument, I'll just say I think her presence led to Millie being utterly ignored in most of Bo's eulogies and that I was always semi-suspicious of why a younger woman like her married Bo.

You hit on a pretty big point here. My parents knew Millie from alumni functions in the early to mid 1980's, and she was a very, very beloved figure not only within the athletic community, but within the University as a whole. It's absolutely true that when Bo died, Cathy was just about the only woman mentioned, and Millie seemed to be kind of an afterthought and addendum to everyone's remarks. It was kind of pathetic, to be honest.

I don't particularly like the way Cathy handled the publicity surrounding Bo's legacy, the special with WXYZ and all of this Bo wine crap. Something about it always kind of gave me the creeps.

I know there has been a lot of drama within Bo's family as well, a lot of which made the papers a while back. This isn't incredibly surprising to me.

You may have a point regarding the eulogies, but I don't think it's fair to be suspicious of her intentions regarding Bo. When she met him, she was recently widowed and was already pretty wealthy (possibly more than he was), so I doubt she was looking to cash in. She also didn't seem to have any idea who he was at the time. At any rate, they seem to have been happily married for about a decade.

Cathy obviously did something to make Bo pretty happy and mellow for the latter part of his life. If she spent a lot of time, uh, rejuvinating him, who am I to judge her harshly. Either Bo's BS detector still worked and she really loved him, or she was able to make him so happy that his BS detector broke. Either way, Bo was happy.

However, people do change after someone dies and money is involved. I hope it all comes out in the wash and that whatever decision is made is a just one.
