Personally, I'm not tired of the hype. I think Shea Patterson together with Jim Harbaugh is a match made in heaven. Having Ed Warinner and Jim McElwain now doesn't hurt either. I'm expecting more than 10 wins this year.

P.S., Brandon Wimbush of Notre Dame is at #43. I'm expecting him to have a very difficult time with Michigan's defense.

Shea has not won the starting QB position either. I do think he will win the job and have a good year, but some of these polls are kind of putting the cart before the horse.

The jury is still out in my court of approval.  He is small and a different type of QB than the offense is built for.   Im actually rooting for Peters to give him a strong run to be the starter.  Peters has all of the tools and showed flashes last year despite playing behind a crap OL with very little WR talent.

Sam Webb has been banging the drum for Joe Milton. He thinks there may be a chance he does not red shirt this season if he continues to impress in fall practice. I think he was hinting that Milton may get snaps because he'll be in the mix for the #1 spot next season. Assuming that Patterson is 1 and done that is.

Sam seems like he's way out on an island about Milton. I'm sure the kids looks good, but it would be a sign of the apocalypse if a kid who barely completed 50% of his passes in high school was a true freshman starter.

I have a hunch that the main reason he only completed 50% was because they threw it deep so many damn times.  IIRC in his highlights, most of the throws were like 60 yard bombs.  If he's completing 40% of those and 60% of his other throws, that's pretty damn good.  Couple that with some early Harbaugh teaching and is it really that far fetched that he might actually be good?  The arm talent is undeniable.  I'm not really saying I'm drinking the Kool Aid, but I'm saying it's not that far away from reason.

in year #4 coming off a dissapointting season last year. Way too much at stake and combined with fact 3 extremely talented guys ahead of him who already know the system. Be surprised Milton redshirt is even burned. There's just way too much to lose.

It’s going to be because Harbaugh has chosen to totally revamp his offensive theories. He’ll play a QB by committee or something equivalent. Make teams prepare for 2 different attacks. Seems like a dream, but imagine if he were able to pull it off

don't get the Shea Patterson hype. I don't get the Brandon Peters hype. Yes, Brandon Peters is a good QB. And he throws a beautiful pass! I was really high on him last year. But I didn't like some of his decision making when he was flushed and was on the run. I don't think he has a chance against Patterson. I am not even sure he is better than Dylan McCaffrey. I am anxious to see Dylan McCaffrey play in clean up time this year.

I was a huge fan of Peters after Speight went down and when he finally got the chance to start he was progressing well until the OL sent him to the hospital.  Now he is spooked and played terrible in the Bowl game.  Sometimes, getting ear-holed can really create game-day demons that are tough to shake.  Cases in point - JOK developed happy feet with accuracy issues, Peters lost his confidence and even the veteran Speight looked spooked in the pocket.

My hope is Shea has the skill set to manage a game with less than ideal pass protection ... his 152 QBR at Ole Miss is highly encouraging given the putrid OL they had, but that Alabama game tempers my ultimate expectations because our OL couldn't handle Alabama's crazy-good pass rush either.  So will we contend for the B1G title in 2018?  Maybe, but that schedule is brutal.  Will we contend for the CFP in 2018?  Not likely, only because our OL can't compete at an elite level versus the likes of Alabama.

I think the OL will continue to struggle in pass pro against the better DLs we face ... ND, MSU, UW, PSU and OSU.  However, if Shea stays healthy I think he can help us pull off at least 3 wins out of that bunch and put us in the hunt for the B1G title.  Beating both MSU and OSU on the road will take some exceptionally strong playmaking on his part.  But this year given the QB upgrade it is definitely possibe ... Go Blue !!!

I misread Mich St.

That's why I said McSorley and Lewerke.

Sorry about that.

Did you happen to catch the first 4 rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft?....because that’s where McSorley’s offense ended up.

Oh, and goodbye OC.

He’s not the worst QB in CFB, but McSorley is far from the 3rd best in the nation, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he struggles some this season.

...you can't base that on one relief appearance, where the defense was not prepared. See also: O'Korn vs. Purdue last year.

Granted our defense was much better than Purdue's, but the point is that QBs sometimes do much better in a relief situation than when opposing defenses are prepared for them.

That said, I'm guessing he's pretty good.

I’m starting to think you are Haskins. Remember when you said Haskins was shredding a bunch of teams last year? Now we know Haskins is pretty fuckin good because of 3 drives in the second half of the Michigan game? He very well could be good, but your love for him and OSU has me questioning why you even come here lately
