Nobody is bringing up Torrian Wilson. He is a 4* the #2 guard in the nation, and his commitment to Stanford is soft at best. His aunt lives very close to Ann Arbor, so he has family in the area. Also Torrian is taking a visit 1/22/10 signing day is 2/3/10, I smell snake oil, and really think Torrian is coming here.

I would be thrilled with the remaining five being the predicted: Ash Hankins Furman Murphy Grimes But for some reason I don't think we're going to get both DT recruits. Considering we already have one in the class and have Campbell as a sophomore I think we're going to see one of those guys surprise us and go elsewhere.....unfortunately. But maybe that allows us to take that other OL recruit that I want in this class to keep our numbers reasonable. Or maybe Drake doesn't qualify and they convince both DT to come in.

Talk about the pendulum swinging in the other direction.... Sometimes it boggles my mind when I realize there will be potentially NINE new defensive backs that will compete for spots next season. NINE!!! This past season we finished the year with a red-shirt freshman walk-on safety and a red-shirt freshman corner as our starters in the secondary. Guys with position switches like Teric Jones and James Rogers were viable backups. But next season the following people will be competing that weren't in the mix this season: Justin Turner - S/CB (redshirt) Adrian Witty - CB Cullen Christian - CB Terrence Talbot - CB Courtney Avery - CB Ray Vinopal - S Carvin Johnson - S Marvin Robinson - S/LB And Grimes is still considering us. Heck, do we know if Dior Mathis is still a possibility? I assume it is remote. Obviously some of the guys on the list above will redshirt. I suspect that Talbot, Avery, and one of the Vinopal/Johnson pairing will almost certainly redshirt. Witty is not highly rated but he's a year older and will have spring practice under his belt. I could see him on special teams. I think Christian could be starting and I think Marvin will get minutes. Isn't it nice to have depth?

It's nice to have depth, of course. But keep in mind that there is always attrition, and there are always players who don't pan out. Additionally, it's pretty tough to get youngsters ready to play in the secondary. Accordingly, I think next year is still ride or die with guys like Mike Williams.

Hankins is a nose tackle. Ash is a 3-tech DT or perhaps a strongside DE. If they were both nose tackles, I'd agree that we wouldn't need both, but they would play different positions.

Apparently, Ash love us. However, the feeling is that he is not a strong enough person (not a slam on the athlete) to tell WVU that he is going to decommit. With respect to Hankins, Ash and Beachum, the first two to commit are it. No Mas. I'd like to dream that we had a shot at all three, but unrealistic. I too thinks Grimes/Murphy are silent commits.

...rumor going around that we've got five silent commits...most likely grimes, murphy, furman, hankins and ash. ...that'd give us 28, but there's also a rumor going around that kinnard and drake aren't going to qualify. ...if that's the case...and i had to pick two more...knight and wilson!
