Semi-OT?–-Dreams re: game vs. UConn

Submitted by WanderingWolve on

Since we're only 21 days from kick-off and need some football-related topics other than speculation about how our D will be and who is going to take the first snap at QB for Michigan, I thought I'd share a couple of dreams I've had recently and see if the Michigan football dreams have increased for anyone else as we inch closer to the start of the'10 campaign.  I'm not claiming to be a psychic or have any foresight abilities but for context, in '06 the night before The Game I dreamt we lost 42-24.  Fortunately it turned out slightly better than that but the Bucks scored 42 and we still lost; obviously.

My first M vs. UConn dream was a few weeks ago and the D-Rob led the O onto the field for a final drive before half-time.  They lined up in weird formation--Molk over the ball, D-Rob behind him, the LG and LT to the top of the field with 2 WR's behind them and the RG and RT to the bottom with WR's behind them.  D-Rob threw to Stokes but it was way behind him.  He ran back and picked it up and got most of the yardage back but M had to punt and went into half-time trailing.  They came back and won though.

Last night I dreamt that M kicked off to start the game or half and did an onside kick they recovered.  They won in that dream too.

Again, not saying this predicts anything just wondering if anyone has an increase of football dreams and what happens in them.

Can't wait for Sept. 4th.  Go Blue!

That's another suggestion I have that you can take or leave: An OT board. A lot of times people just want to discuss anything and everything with like-minded individuals. Would it be that hard to have a link to an OT board on the MGoBoard page? I, for one, would enjoy being able to post about canine anal leakage or my dreams without wasting space on the conventional MGoBoard.

I'd put sticky threads on the main page under a third board.  Right now, you could have a "Tate v Denard Thread," a "Violation Thread," and a "Practice Rumors Thread."  I think most of the irritation comes from seeing the same five topics.

That's my two cents...

I've visited sites that are divided into "on-topic" and "off-topic" boards.  It usually doesn't work out very well.  The line between the two always ends up being fuzzy and you get threads suddenly moved from one to the other.  Also, the off-topic boards usually end up degenerating into political grudgefests.

Personally, I think the board is pretty good as it is.  I don't think it needs that much tinkering.

Funny you should mention dreams.

I had one about a week ago where we were winning 35-10. I want to say it was just after half time, but I dont remember a whole lot about it.  Not sure how it ended, either.

My subconcious is obviously drinking the Kool-Aid as well.

Prior to the event containing my favorite 313 yards ever, I had a wierd dream that The Game was being played in the senior courtyard of my high school, and although many circumstances were strange, Michigan won big in my dream.

Last night I had a long dream containing many threads; one of these was my attendance at game between Michigan and Texas A&M, at  A&M.  I was the only fan in my area, having snuck through a gap in the fence.  Michigan scored on a big play - a kick or punt return, I think -  and soon I was joined in the section by the Michigan softball team.  Together we sang "The Victors".

A lot of other stuff happened.  The take-away for me was a feeling of confidence against a reasonably strong opening day opponent.

A couple of weeks ago (for some reason... maybe too much MGoBlog) I dreamt that Michigan was down 31-21 with 3+ minutes left in the 4th quarter.  Connecticut was kicking off after a score.  Stonum got the ball and knifed through the pack (ND-style).  He was at the Michigan 45 when I woke up.  No dreams since...

I have yet to have dreamt about UConn, but the past two years I dreamed about the season opener.

Before Utah I dreamed a victory for the good guys but a few days later I dreamed of a Utah victory with UM playing very sloppy. The latter was spot on.

Last year I dreamed up a dominating victory for Blue over WMU. Once again spot on. I will keep everyone updated on my UConn dream considering I'm 100% so far. Let's hope it's a win for Michigan!

to see Fitzgerald Toussaint take the first series of snaps at RB.  Behind his electric running, we march downfield before Roundtree hauls in a TD pass from _____________ (fill in the blank).

I haven't had any dreams re: Michigan Football.  Strange as this may seem, I almost wish I would.  It would keep me from waking up and thinking WTF? about whatever crazy shit I did just dream about!

I daydream about us walking into the Shoe, with the Buckeyes at 11-0, and us knocking OSU out of the National Title Game.  My first win over OSU as a Michigan fan would be a good one...

in mine denard took a direct snap to the right and we had uconn outflanked. he scored to put us up 10-0. don't know how much time was left but i knew we were going to win.

i dreamt of The Game, just bits and pieces, Steve Breaston returning a punt for a touchdown, that sort of thing.

glad you started this thread, good work.

I had a dream we were playing USC for some reason the other day, but I kept running onto the field and making an ass of myself in general. Woke up in a cold sweat for some reason.

This is maybe the worse thread I've seen this offseason. I really truly don't care about your dreams. Not even a little bit. I had a dream once that Tressel butt-raped Michigan, it was called the last decade. Should I make a thread about that?

Clearly that's why you're a touch cranky, David. We like to feed ours shots of wheat grass and babies of a Spartan genealogy. Oh, the wheat shots have a vitamin c immunity boost. For half of the originating members of M4M, the dreams have already begun. This, we figured since it is an annual occurrence, must be a widespread phenomenon among fans. Our beards are truly happy to see this topic presented as it's always nice to know were not alone. So dream on, MGoCommunity. May your beards in August and that Stache on Sept 4th make those dreams come true.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I had a dream a few nights ago that we beat UConn 51-36 and were leading 51-3 at one point.  Doesn't bode too well for our D I suppose, but the offense, at least in my subconscious, is going to be ridiculous.

I for one don't think this that bad of a thread because I have had quite a few dreams about the team. The weird thing is I can't remember any details, but I'm always at the Big House, and I'm always singing "The Victors" at the top of my lungs, and high fiving perfect strangers,so they must be doing something right in them.

I had a dream that my OSU friend and I went to THE game at THE Big House. And that we lost the game. I remember being really pissed off and wanting to kill him. That's all.

I had a dream a month ago that the coverage of the game didn't start until 7 mins left in the first quarter and I was pissed to have missed the start.  But when it came on Michigan was winning 4-0 which at the time didn't seem odd but when i woke up I realized that would require two safeties.

A few weeks ago I dreamed that Tate was the starter and he threw 2 td's on our first 2 drives and we were winning 14-0.

A few days ago I dreamed that the game started at 9 am and my tickets didn't come until halftime and my dad and I had to decide if we wanted to drive during halftime and try to make it before the next half started.  We life 2 hours away so that makes it a bit more odd.

Needless to say, I have been dreaming about it a lot.

The last dream i had was when we were camping during the horror.

I drank so much the night before the game i had this crazy dream we lost the opener against whoever we were playing.

Needless to say i woke up, shook it off, and knew that would never happen

5 hours later my life has never been the same.

It is possible i subconsciously attempt not to dream about michigan games for this very reason.

On an unrelated note, i had a dream that i won 130,000 dollars in vegas at my bachelor party and then i lost it in the desert and was frantically looking for it with my guys. Shit, i hope we find it...
