Semi-OT: does anyone know how to get advanced stats from midway through previous years?
I'd like to compare this year's advanced stats (preferrably the ones compiled by Football Outsiders, S&P. FEI and F+) with last year's through 6 games to see how well the measures predicted final results. But I can't seem to find anything but the final, end-of-season numbers for S&P. FEI and F+.
Anyone know where to find these? Alum96, maybe?

I posted it weekly on the mgoboard starting maybe week 7 or so last year so if you can find my posts you can find them at least for all the Big 10 teams and a few others like Utah, Bama, etc I am sure the title had "advanced stats" something or other in it.
Or you can just go through my 20,000 posts one by one - see you in 7 weeks. :)

But I'm still curious to see how well S&P predicts end of season results at this early stage...

(they show the Offensive FEI and Defensive FEI for an individual team IF AND ONLY IF they are Top 25 overall. But no such luck if they were 10th offensively and 50th defensively and 30th overall).

If you want general statistics on teams, TeamRankings will allow you to go back about ten years and adjust the calendar in a given season as well so you can actually get snapshots of what the stats that you might need looked like at given points in time as well. This would require you to first find out which calendar week corresponded which season week, but the tables can be intriguing all the same.
