It has been discussed on this board Kozan's decision would be affected by the strength of the business school (Per Sam Webb tweet). Being a student at UD, I noticed we had hired Auburn's Business Dean and realized that this may play significantly into his decision. I know when I was choosing my school the dean played largely into that but maybe I'm just picky.

No I didn't go scouring the internet for Kozan info, just happened to come across this in a school related email.

I'm going to guess that this will affect Kozan's decision 0.0%. Feel bad for the kid, clearly he's confused and needs some help with direction in his life. You would think if he was REALLY serious about attending the best business school he'd have already announced Michigan. Its not even close between M/Auburn/Iowa whose is better.

If Kozan were serious about the strength of the business school being a key factor, he would already be at Michigan.  Losing a dean isn't going to make a crummy Auburn business school a lesser option than Michigan; it was already far below Michigan as far as business schools are concerned.  Come on Alex, just decide where you want to go and don't feel the need to justify it with some story about academics.  You don't have to justify your choice.

I totally agree with what you are saying but I can't imagine having to go through this process. When I was deciding all I was looking at was academics and school size and I had a hell of a time deciding. It came down to UD and Michigan and when I was convinced I wasn't getting into UM I picked Dayton. Of course this bit me in the ass when I got accepted the next day, but I digress. These kids have to decide on academics and how it will affect their football future, which is beyond what I can imagine.

I got accepted to UM the day after I paid my money to UD so I really had no choice but to go through with it. But since UD is private they have a lot more scholarships to give out and they did give me more money, but their business school is really good too, not as good as UM's of course. The thing that really made me mad was that I got into Ross as a freshman, which I guess is hard, but I have no regrets, UD is pretty sweet and my roommmates dad was QB at UM so we get tickets quite a bit.

is that Auburn will admit freshmen students directly into their Business school, while at Michigan, you have to apply for entry after your sophomore year. So there is no guarantee that he would be accepted into Michigan Business School while he is assured of admission at Auburn right off the bat.

I believe this is essentially what Sam Webb was intimating when he discussed and stated that Michigan's Business School might be too good for Kozan.

A wild guess is that he likes M better because of distance and playing time etc., and he likes the prestige of the M Business School, but he is conflicted by the concern that if he doesn't get the grades because of football time constraints, then he is SOL.

Alex is waiting or has been told to wait to see if someone else chooses Auburn by either the coaches at Auburn or maybe he is waiting to see what happens at Iowa. Either way if he really wanted to come to Michigan there would not be any reason for him to wait this long.
