Second Half: Please Pass Persistently

Submitted by 1464 on

Anybody else feel that Al should have Denard throw the ball a lot in the second half?  Three touchdown lead.  Get him more looks in the passing game.  Take the lumps if they come, but I would love to see him get comfortable enough to fall back into the rhythm he had last year.  I haven't checked, but I'd assume he has 100-150 more rushing yards than passing yards at this point of the season...

Yea u wonder why Denard is getting so many carries in these games that are out of hand but they smart. Maybe they know what they're working with and bringing him along SLOWLY. The story of the game has been the D by far.

The d-line played pretty finally. Even when they completed passes our D was right there to make the tackle which we havent seen in a few years. Countess looked good. Jake Ryan always seem to be around the ball.

Seriously, I've never seen a worse throwing QB than Denard. I like the Percy Harvin strategy w/Devin at QB (I'd at least like to see what it looks like on the field). You can go to the wildcat as a change-up. Don't you want your 11 best athletes on the field ? How can Gardner on the bench be beneficial ?

I liked Countess, some nice open field tackles and pass break ups. They threw just about every pass his way after he came in and he held his own. He honestly looked better than Floyd...

Say what you want about our D giving up 400 yards , they allowed only 10 points the last 2 games. At their worst they look 100 times better than last year. I hope recruits are taking note of the turn around and I can't wait to see our defense in a few years

Mattison always talks about the diff between giving up yards between the 20's vs. giving up points. At first I thought it was coachspeak, but I'm starting to love this D a lot.

Countess?  Yeah, he looks like a gamer.  I hope Troy is okay though.  Watching SUX when you're a competitive athlete.
