SEC West - You're on notice
As of today 4 of the top 13 recruiting classes are from the B1G East. To be fair, another 4 are from the SEC West. But the B1G East have the players and the coaches to sit at the big boy table now. As much as I hate endorsing MSU and OSU, we have 2 BCS winners from last year, including the National Champs. We have two of the top three coaches in all of college football. Pretty spectacular that Dantonio is the third best coach in the division. We have the horses. It's time for the changing of the guards.
I admire your spunk (PHRASING!) but this seems a bit premature. Until we go out and start winning games, all this is doing is riding on 50% hope, 50% sparty and buckeye coattails.
While I know you're right, I'm choosing to ignore it.
Its been too God damn long since I could be excited about Michigan football, and I'm not going to let something like your reality check get in the way!
Lets HARBAUGH!
I don't know if we have giant holes. I think it's more than we have a lot of guys that are pretty good but not stars.
I would like to take your "coattail days are over" sentiment one step further. Michigan has never, ever ridden on Sparty's coattails for anything. Sparty, on the other hand...
To be fair, the SEC East also has a team in the top 10. But I agree with you in principle, most definitely fuck the SEC.
Some of the commits that we already have will move up in the rankings. Even if the 2 stars move to 3 stars when they get evaluated. This is going to be a very strong class.
Has all the lookings of a top 5 class come February 2016. That is exciting news after the last two "Hoke classes" missed on key targets (Hand, McDowell, and on and on and on).
One could argue that no other conference has 3 better coaches than the top 3 in our division.
Better yet, one would have a hard time arguing against that point.
There's a few ways to interpret that..

I think outside of the top 2, it becomes debatable.
5 SEC Teams
4 B1G teams
2 Pac 12 teams
2 ACC teams...
The competitive balance is returning...
1 hour ago stars didn't matter, because we didn't have them.
Now look at our stars! We have them and they're important!
Edit: Dammit, someone already gave the line that follows.
...life moves at the speed of light,
the light from all these crootin stars!
If you don't stop and look around once in a while- and do everything you want all the time- you could miss it.
Amazing that nobody from the Big 12 is on that list.
OK, I don't follow recruiting as much as I used to, but why has there been so much bellyaching about this class when it's ranked in the top 10?
a commitment from a 2* the other day. Which means that Jim Harbaugh can't recruit and MSU will continue kicking our asses for years to come.
Thanks Obama.
First of all, he accepted 3 2* recruits... but that doesn't answer the question.
The reason people are belly-aching is because people always bitch about anything and everything... some people always find something to bitch about, these people could be hanging from a rope and complaining about the view. Thats why.
this June is already something special and more commits could be well on their way.
They may return to Earth, but they'll still be the best conference. Most talent is in their footprint, boosters are out of control, and the schools are willing to shell out the dough.
but it just might be a lunatic you're looking for. Nowhere near the talent left by Bump for Bo to coach into AAs, howeva, there are a lot of good players on the roster that haven't even began to receive real coaching until this season. Remember Bo lost three games his first season but he did produce not only three AAs on the OL, but all three ended up in the NFL Hall of Fame and all on one side of the ball. Could be deja vu all over again.
should be resolved by simple competition. Schedule home and home with SEC teams! (and sometime before I get to a retirement home, please)
I'll go down south to see some football!
you might go down south but they don't often come up north.
Then again I would have an eight team playoff with 5 conference champs (if in top 10) and three play-in spots.
