...Cretin Derham is a pipeline school for Notre Dame, that is where Michael Floyd and Matt Carufel went to HS, and a number of non-football athletes go there on scholarship. The schools have a good connection and relationship, as well they should.

Angry and sarcastic: the product of a 3-9 season. Just kidding. I would not take it personally -- mgoblog's dedicated readership has a peculiarly sadistic sense of humor. I suspect this goes hand-in-hand with our unhealthy obsession with Michigan football and the college destinations of 17-year old boys. Just a hunch.

You're right. He probably wouldn't have answered that way in person. But go back and think about your question. The two most popular, most trusted recruiting websites said that Henderson is the #1 player in the country... ...and you're asking US if he's that good. If you don't trust them, why would you trust random internet dudes? If I say yes, you're clearly not going to trust my opinion. If I say no, you're clearly not going to trust my opinion.

He was blown away with his visit to UM. He stayed an extra day to catch Saturday's practice. I think U of M will be with him till the end. Not saying he'll be a Wolverine but that UM has a strong chance to get his services. The biggest obstacle will be negating the negative recruiting that will be used. He will be to told that UM doesn't produce NFL caliber O linemen in the type of offense that RR runs.

Cretin Derham is a pipeline school for Notre Dame, that is where Michael Floyd and Matt Carufel went to HS, and a number of non-football athletes go there on scholarship. The schools have a good connection and relationship, as well they should. While that is true, Carufel transferred from ND to minnesota, so there may be a crack in that pipeline with OL. I have no doubt that Brewster will have Carufel in Henderson's ear a lot. He has to look favorably at our depth chart. We will lose at least one tackle next year, and none of the tackles on the roster are all- bt types (Shilling is apparently moving to guard). We are two years removed from the number one overall pick at tackle who just happened to be a pro-bowler. His hometown vikings have a M wolverine (Hutchinson) another pro-bowler. Frey showed that he can coach - he made that ragtag unit respectable by the end of the year. I think that if he liked his visit, there is no reason why we do not have a shot.

....if he cares about his professional development and contacts, he will choose Michigan over Minnesota. However, Notre Dame has its tentacles in that school. Hopefully, the Charlie Weis "asshole" factor will help dissuade Henderson from ND. Seems that is what led Carufel back to MN: http://www.uhnd.com/blog/2008/notre-dame-football/matt-carufel-talking-…
