Scout: DT Talbott downgraded to "soft verbal"

Hopefully he's taking a free trip to a great campus and nothing more comes of it

that his brother terrence didn't even take the trip to UNC. They had wanted to go to school together, so hopefully they stick with M, but I'd definitely agree that after Terry actually taking this trip without his brother, he isn't the most solid of commits.

Rather he is now a soft verbal or a solid verbal makes no difference at this point, all will be known for sure on NSD. However, with that said, we can't afford another DT decommit this year. This is a major area of concern for this defense. at least our DB field has talent, there is not much talent in the DT's with the exception of Campbell, we need all the help we can get here.

Recruiting is not a one man one mission deal. Its throw soilders on a beach and see who sticks. Last year we had an undersized line with little depth and it effected our game stradgey. We need depth up front, any team does. Even if we some how got Black, which frankly seems unlikely at this point, the loss of Capital T Talbott would hurt immensely. Secondly did anybody every consider that UNC might not be interested in little T Talbott and that is why he is not visiting. Both of them have pontential but Big T has size which is not teachable. I have to say it worries me this late, and if RR loses him it might be chalked up to a Hobson causalty. The guy couldn't recruit DT's when he was here, and now we can't get a DT because he is gone. How's that for karma?

At which point in my post did I write that DB was not a concern? Where did you read that? To your point though at least I see bodies at that position on the roster (and in this recruiting class). I don't see the depth in the middle of the defensive line. We have Will Campbell and Mike Martin for the Furture. It is a position group that works optimally with with depth, and losing a player of Big T's postential this late would hurt. That is my point. It has nothing to do with the secondary.

He is referring to my post about the DB's. Ok so now for Bobby, I don't need tapes I watch every game and analize everything. WHat part of we don't have a problem in the DB was I not clear in?? We now have 2 recruiting years of DB's with a third to come. We may not have seen the abilities as of yet from our DB's, but if we keep receuiting like we have the past few years for the DB's there is no doubt in my mind we are just fine!!!!! Now for the DL, we are very undersized and with a major lack of depth, so yes the DL is our area of concern..

"I don't think they've ever really been 100% on board. Hopson was their recruiter, too, and he's gone. Late visits are never good" Via TomVH's twitter. I believe he was referring to the Talbott bro's.

i dont think this is much to be worried about. both of the brothers seem to enjoy UM a lot, and i dont think that terry would commit elsewhere when he and his brother are already committed. plus worst case scenario we lose him and open up room for black, who seems more than adequate to fill his spot

I think he is just going there to have a fun time. If I was a highly recruited player I would go to all of my official visits if I could. Scout said to not really look too much into it. They just had to change it to a soft verbal because of the visit. His brother did not go with him.
