Schembechler's Office?

Submitted by juiceman on
Under Lloyd's watch I recall hearing he left Schembechler's office untouched and would never enter it.  Does anyone know if the same holds true with RR?

Bill Martin should see that it is emptied and redecorated.   No one will forget Bo, his name is on the building, there is a painting of him on the wall, and he made a lasting impression on millions of people.  Maybe I need more sensitivity training, but whenever I see preserved labs and offices I think the organization needs reality training.

What Jackson mentioned was that he caught himself poking his head in to see if Bo was there once last week- one of those ingrained habits from being here for years.

And what's the point in emptying it and redecorating?  The man made the program what it is today and it's a terrific reminder of our tradition.  So you empty it and redcorate for what- another random office?  Like they really need the extra 400 square feet for storage?  Emotion aside, imo it could serve a much better purpose as is just for recruiting than as another vanilla space.

if bo were living I bet he would think it is stupid that he still has an office. I love Bo, I had personally spoken with him a # of times but I just don't get the impression that he'd want his office still there.

I tend to agree with Emil Faber, there are enough things that should remind everyone of Bo. And recruiting wise, I guarantee you that the legend of Bo doesn't have as much pull as it used to.on that note, i love Bo. go blue.

They should clean it out, and hold the weekly blood orgies / RR led cheerleader gangbangs there. They could piss on pictures of Bo while lighting cigars with $100 bills and singing John Denver songs.

I thought Dex's idea WAS a child play area.

I agree the younger guys don't know Bo, but not many programs have the option of saying highlighting the face of a program.  OSU and Alabama, yes, but that's all i can think of off the top of my head. It's yet another thng that can set us apart. I'm not for tradition just for sentamentality's sake, but if you can use it as a plus then why not?
