Seems like the bowl predictions are mostly based on storyline of late.

First, it was RichRod vs. Harbaugh. Now it's the Harbowl. I'm waiting for a prediction of the highly-touted return of Al Borges in a Michigan vs. San Jose State Insight.com Bowl.

i approve fully of this. i would like us to win 49-0, and to have the officials decide that the win is so lopsided, that there's no point in holding the rose bowl for the next 13 years.

Really depends how Baylor-TCU shakes out. They could both get spots and if Utah wins the Pac-12 it would be hard to make a case that the B1G champ that isn't MSU or OSU gets a spot over a 1 loss SEC champ. It's a big "if" so say Baylor and TCU would both get spots in the top 4 but it could happen

IMO, no way both Baylor and TCU hey in. They have to win out and the team that does is in this year, IMO. In hindsight I think they know they should have found a way to add TCU last year. The NC jumped them but we all suspected FSU wasn't deserving and they weren't. TCU should have replaced the 3 seed, undefeated reigning NC, as crazy as that sounds. So, one of the two will get in if it's a battle of a couple undefeated or one-loss teams. If we win out (I don't think we will as I stand by 7-9 wins in the regular season) we're in. I think that would be outright fact based on who we'd have to beat to do so. If our lone loss is a playoff or ranked Utah? In over the loser of Baylor-TCU. The only way they both get in is if they are debating a two-loss school as I think the 2nd loss would be seen as weaker than no B12 Title game. BTW, my playoff prediction today would be (in order): BAYLOR, ND, TCU, UTAH. So, they are both in today but when they play the loser will drop out unless all around them take a dive.

We're obviously all just speculating and imagining but I think a 1 loss UofM could showcase a more impressive loss than ND under your scenario with ours being to another playoff team.

I hadn't been "feeling them" but I finally went and watched their games. When they get average QB play they are a very solid team. They've had a couple games now where you assume "it's only a matter of time before they implode" but if it doesn't happen against us I don't see it happening. Their defense is solid and have really only bent to open offenses (which we're not). A lot like us, they need solid QB play or everything else starts to crumble. He can move (think a slightly worse Hill from BYU) and throw a decent ball. Their running game is open but strong and their WRs are shifty. If we shut down this offense I'll officially up my predicted floor of wins from 6-7. Defensively, they are fast and stout. They come after you and get there quick. We NEED to connect on the shots down field that will be there. Absolutely need to. Our game will break or prove NW, IMO.

Are you sure?

Stop looking ahead to Saturday - we still have Monday's practice to get through.  And don't ignore your Monday classes either.  Hell, looking past your Sunday dinner could leave you malnourished for Monday's classes and practice.

We're the fucking fans.  We can look forward to 2017 if we want (and sometimes do).  It will affect nothing.

Beat NW and MSU and we can take these projections seriously. And honestly too, we need a heck of a lot better play at the QB position before we can seriously talk Rose Bowl. Offense is still very much a work in progress.
