Brady Hoke: all-caps text guy.

Don't misunderstand me, I hope he gets a job and gets one as soon as he wants one. But there's a short list of schools I'd rather he not work at, and ND is one of them.

Is it ND or is it Chip Kelly? If Hoke went to Notre Dame, I'd have no problem with it. BH will always bleed Maize and Blue -- but Chip Kelly would really eff him up.

Thanks... my apologies to the coach of the Eagles for confusing him with a douchebag.

Michigan who would love for Hoke to get another coaching job. It does not matter where.

Tremendous.

to go from "ew why would we want brady hoke on our staff," to "on second thought, he could be a good position coach," and "plus he's a really good recruiter! just leave the coaching up to kelly!!!" and finally "DO WANT! DO WANT!!!"
and now get the ultimate let down of "oh fuxx :((((("

That's complete BS!
Are you claiming Brady Hoke can text!?
February 4th, 2015 at 10:08 AM ^
The only thing that would be cool about this would be to see Brady Hoke reinvent himself as a "spread guy" and take another HC job in a few years. I would, however, rather see him do this someplace like WSU.

I like Coach Hoke. I didn't want to be forced to hate him.

Besides defensive line coach, he can also be on the front line to watch for player concussions.
Hope he gets a job but I have always disliked ND..

Must wear headset

My guess: Notre Dame pursued Hoke for DL coach, and Hoke passed.

This is probably better for my own sanity in some ways, even though obviously it has nothing to do with me personally. I really did like Hoke as a person and admired the reinvigoration he conducted of many of the things I consider core to Michigan's larger mission as it relates to football (and it spread into athletics in general). The thought of someone who could do that going to South Bend was not a comforting thought. Hopefully, he does land somewhere.

He moved to ND in an era with assistants got paid diddly, and I think his kid wanted to go to school at ND. His move to ND facilitated tuition payments for his kid. Hard to ding him for that given that he wasn't getting paid all that much.

I don't recall the particulars of Hoke's release, but is there language which indicates he doesn't get the remaining buy-out cash if he takes a job elsewhere? If that's the case, I can't blame him for not taking a position coach hiring (presumably at a significant pay cut) vs holding out for another HC gig.
Besides, could you imagine the good natured Hoke working for that fire breathing Kelly?
February 4th, 2015 at 1:45 PM ^
He gets his buyout minus whatever the new place pays him. It's also stated that he has to do his due diligence in looking for a new position.

Hoke learned how to text. I wonder if he has an I-Phone or a Droid.
