We need a Rb coach with recruiting charisma. I don't get why there isn't more buzz on Ty's replacement. Omaury Samuels is good and Kurt Taylor could develop like hingdon, but who is gonna coach Evans and Walker? Anyone have a rumor or insight? I think Mike hart would be nice fit for headline but not sure if he would greet recruits with a smile. Also someone commented that we won't beat osu with Glasgow as a viper, which may be true but never count out that family out. Every kid works his butt off and plays with serious heart.

Bit of a stretch to say Drevno has a history of coaching RBs. Other than his one year as a Run Game Coordinator at USC, it's been nearly 20 years since he coached running backs.

Coaching career (HC unless noted)

1991–1992 Cal State Fullerton (GA)
1993–1995 Montana State (TE)
1996–1997 Montana State (RB)
1998 UNLV (RB)
1999 San Jose State (OL)
2000–2002 Idaho (OL)
2003–2006 San Diego (OC/OL)
2007–2008 Stanford (TE)
2009–2010 Stanford (OL)
2011–2013 San Francisco 49ers (OL)
2014 USC (RGC/OL)
2015–present Michigan (OC/OL)

The emphasis on blocking from coaching experience with the tight ends would transfer.  I'd love to see the RBs turn into nasty pass-pro blockers.  We've got plenty of guys who can run, so that would address the area the group is weaker.

Is this guy any good? .. I mean from 2008-2010 we were known as the Michigan Denard Robinsons. (Maybe not in 2008, but please don't make me try to remember that year.)

How well is Denard Robinson running behind a crappy OL in the NFL? I know it's different systems, talent levels, etc., but somebody had to block for him. Some of those somebodies include Taylor Lewan, Patrick Omameh, and David Molk, all of whom have been starters in the NFL. And he helped recruit/develop a guy like Michael Schofield.

It could also be that just like we split up the secondary because it is frequently 5 players in nickel, we split up the O-Line because it is 5 players, and that is a lot of players/positions to coach/recruit.

Obviously, Harbaugh is seeking improvement. I am not sure this reflects on Drevno as much as it reflects on the importance of the OL in general, especially now that we can go to 10 coaches.

I agree but Jay's Te's love him. He inherited butt and bunting (latter I think is gonna be very good) but ty jr, asiasi and even nick Eubanks seemed to have developed nicely. But I would still love to see a Rb coach who can recruit his butt off on this staff. I think Anthony Thomas coached at Virginia Wesleyan, let's give him a call. Kidding. I think Jamie Morris would be a great recruiter if he ever chose to coach. Be cool if hart came back
