Per Sam: Battle for Dax Hill may not be over

Per Sam Webb last night on TMI and again today on the recruiting roundup, the race for Dax Hill MAY not be over. Sam cautions fans to stop with the accusations of extra benefits, one because it’s indecent, and two because of self-interest (so you’re saying there’s a chance?). So while we are all collectively upset about what went down, all hope is not lost. Sam also mentioned Aubrey Solomon as a precedent. It’s not necessarily the exact same situation, but there are definitely parallels. Take it FWIW.

Glad I held back my emotions like an adult and didn’t tweet at the kid. Not holding my breath on him actually coming back though, or else why decommit and switch immediately without giving anyone any heads up?

We have the most whiney fans imaginable. One recruit never makes or breaks a football team, no matter how talented. The doom and gloom has to stop. If he comes back, great. If he sticks with Alabama, oh well.

The most disturbing thing I have seen, is the comparison between recruiting battles and dating. Losing a recruit is nothing like going through a break-up. The comparison itself seems creepy and in bad taste to me. I really wish people would stop drawing those conclusions and making those analogies every time their is a decommit from the program. It is a bad look for our fanbase.

Seems we are being trolled, a Dax crystal ball submitted for Michigan today by Jeremy Birmingham. I believe he is a OSU insider. He also cb'd Harrison to Michigan.

I just saw the same thing. Not sure if we're being trolled or if Dax is trolling Bama. The hopeful idiot in me still hopes for a flip before NSD, but the realistic side says to get a grip. Either way, should be a fun finish to recruiting. The reality remains that in order to compete at a higher level, our coaches are going to have to coach at a higher level which they haven't done in big games so far.
