Ryan Glasgow appreciation thread

I'm not sure I've missed one player more for a particular game.

Not only was the DL depth missed, but it further confirmed what we much knew, he is an incredibly dominating force in the middle of the D and was almost tragically missed.  Get well soon.

And 2014 Jake Rudock, welcome back.

No nose-tackle is going to make a giant dent in 355 yards rushing!  I could see Glasgow subtracting 60-100 yards from that, then IU would still have OVER 230 yards rushing!

It was more than Glasgow missing.  What the hell happened?!?!  IU found all kinds of issues with our run-defense, and exposed it.

So, once again...besides Glasgow missing, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?!?

Not only did it hurt us because of his ability to set the point, but also depth.  Our guys were flat out gassed.  Those 50 plays in the first half took a lot out of our front 7.

As I was watching with my family (whom my oldest nephew is an osu fan and was having much fun with our struggles) "is Glasgow really that important?"  I am glad we won and you have to win these kinds of games.  WOW, though!   I am stumped, , kind of speechless, exhausted from hoping we would not blow the opportunity, etc.

Ryan Glasgow...I had no idea how much of anchor you were to the Dline until today.

I thought he was good, I thought he could be drafted at least late. I heard all the talk of Willy Henry as the strongest man on the team and just assumed Glasgow was #2.

I was wrong. I apologize. You are probably my favorite walk on player of all time.

No sarcasm or jokes here. Ryan is a fucking beast, an immovable wall, and obviously a HUGE part of the defensive success we've had this year. Please heal faster than humanly possible.

They run hurry up and gassed our guys, have an experienced o-line, huge rumbling back.  All of this exposed our d-line depth, or lack there of.

Glasgow, Mario, and Mone not around. That's a lot of beef to be missing up front.  It starts to add up the further you get into the season.

The fate of a good nose tackle is to go underappreciated until they are not there to be appreciated. The fact that Glasgow was appreciated before missing the game is a testament to how good he truly is. Morgan and Bolden were lost in the wash all game.

Glasgow - He must be the key to that defense. What a player. Without him, we looked mediocre.

With the uptempo offense that Indiana ran, our players couldn't keep up. We needed our leader there. We sorely missed him.

I want to chalk up this defensive performace to three things -- uptempo offense, DL depth and Glasgow. We can see how much he protected the LBs.

Get well soon Ryan. We need you!!!

Look, Ryan Glasgow has been a helluva player for us this year and he was, indeed, sorely missed in the middle. Yet, IU ran at will in any direction they chose. Out D linemen were poor getting off blocks and the team as a whole tackled quite poorly. The LB play was awful and the overall team discipline was terrible. Glasgow's presence would have certainly been helpful, but to think that what we witnessed was predominantly due to his absence is baffling.

but it made me realize how crucial he is to our D-line. Missing him, Mario O. and Mone really hurt today. So glad we came away with the win. P.S. Indiana was holding our D-line a TON tonight that didn't get called. I was ready to strangle Brock Huard for congratulating IU's O-Line, when they were obviously setting the edge by holding like crazy.

Just can't say enough to express how great Ryan is as a Wolverine teammate. The Team, the Team, the Team. Bring your brothers up to the task, Ryan. Championship teams learn and adapt. Next man up !!!
