I'm honestly surprised we haven't heard a lot of stories like this. By basic demographics, the black players in the NFL likely almost all support democratic candidates, as >80% of African-American's do. The white players disproportionately fit demographics that would make them Trump voters. A characteristicall unscientific Bleacher Report poll found this very strongly.
The political divide has become so strong.Both Trump's hatred and the left's hatred of Trump are so visceral that I'm sure it's getting a lot harder to avoid politicized, nasty fights like this.

I remember seeing Jake Butt post a ton of anti-Hilary stuff online. However, he didn't go crazy with it. I think its possible to just leave politics out of the locker room.

Can Reschke land anywhere after this (srs)? It would take a lot for African American players to accept him IMO, but maybe people could understand he was angry after having his teammate sleep with his gf? Oh well not my problem...
Also damn Reschke.... It's MSU. You could get another jersey chaser. Not worth being with that old gf anyways.
Good for MSU that I think they have Lyles graduating. I'd imagine some of the linebackers liked Reschke.

I tend to think its easy to call words racist but not so simple to call a person racist.
I haven't read the texts but if they kicked him off I'd imagine this was more of a last straw kind of thing.
