I could possibly see him leaving if offered, but I don't understand why the Cavs would want to offer him the position.  College coaches very rarely make a successful transition to the pros.

Supposedly Lebron told Dan Gilbert that Izzo is one of the guys he'd like as a coach if he was to stay. While Gilbert might be calling the shots, I believe Lebron has an influence. After all the value of the Cavs did rise $100+ million after Lebron arrived so it'd be wise financially to maybe keep an ear open when he says something.

"While Izzo could always change his mind, we are comfortable reporting that he has in fact informed his players at Michigan State that he will be taking the Cavaliers job. "

goodmanonfox: Michigan State source told FOXSports.com that the Tom Izzo report by WFNY that he's taking the Cavs job is "absolutely untrue."

goodmanonfox: Just spoke to another person extremely close with Tom Izzo and re-affirmed this report by WFNY is "not true".

goodmanonfox: Sources told FOXSports.com Michigan State coach Tom Izzo did speak to players - yesterday - about topic. Izzo has NOT made decision yet.

I will plug a laptop in to my tv and just watch tRCMB burn. they are SO confident that Izzo will never leave and that they can keep him working there for little more than a Happy Meal and a wish. while $3 million/year is obviously more than that, they act like he should feel honored to even work at their school and that alone will keep him there forever.

I could care less if he comes to us and fails, I also am so completely done with this Lebron bullshit that I don't care if he leaves either.  Izzo leaving east lansing is good, I don't care what happens, it would be hilarious.  As far as Lebron, if he signs for 3 years then I know that I have to put up with this bullshit sideshow for 3 more years, and I don't think I have it in me.  I honestly don't, between Lebron, Rod, and Demar Dorsey, the amount of speculation I've had to deal with is probably developing into some sort of large ulcer as we speak.  I don't care who he is, no player should have this sort of a stranglehold on an organization.  My favorite Cavs player of all time isn't  even Lebron, it's Mark Price.

Then he should take the deal in the NBA. He'll eventually regret ever leaving EL, but he'll have a lot more coin in the bank.

Bo Schembechler could have moved more than once to either the NFL or to Texas A&M, and he could have vastly increased his salary in doing so regardless of where he went. I think it's accurate to say he never regretted his decision to stay.

While I doubt he actually will take this deal, it's nice that this is simultaneously occuring with the Dorsey incident, so that those dipshits in EL are dealing with their own schadenfreude and not devouring on ours.

Granted it is unfortunate the Dorsey stuff had to happen and I am greatly saddened this had to occur, but with all the shit we as Michigan fans get from other fans on top of the events already occuring in front of our eyes, it's nice when we can just deal with it in peace...

the "coach X has already told his players he's leaving" rumor fails 99% of the time. the one time I remember it being true was when brian kelly actually told his cincinnati players and the entire media was waiting outside the room to pounce on the news. that was after we endured 3 or 4 other brian kelly rumors that were almost exactly the same

My gawd, this is the single greatest line possible to end that post.  A whole box of Kudos to you, sir.
