And make her lose her house just "screwed up."  The fact that after doing this he somehow deserves someone else buying his ring for thousands of dollars and giving it to him is laughable. But hey, I'm sure you can buy something for Ted Kaczynski too, because we wouldn't want to judge.

Aren't the gems alone worth more than that?  And I would expect a bball national championship ring to be worth more since there are far fewer of them for a given team and more people heavily invested emotionally in college teams than pro teams.  I don't know if I would expect thaaat much of a difference but I bet someone out there would pay 90 thousand.

Agree to disagree.  I think the number of devoted Michigan fans is bigger than the number of devoted fans of any one pro team nationwide.  If I had the money I'd much rather have a UofM national championship ring than a Lions superbowl ring.  I'm not really the type that would spend money on something like that even if I had it though, so maybe I'm wrong.

More people would want to buy a Super Bowl ring but there would be people who would be willing to buy a college national championship ring for more (money). Since this is only one piece, the number of people who are interested is not as important as finding that one person who is really interested.
That being said the current asking price is excessively optimistic.

Read the fine print - the seller sounds like a sleazebag. 200% money back guarantee if it's deemed not real. I guess a transaction under these circumstances is sleazy.

Since the going price for a Heisman trophy is between $200k-$300k, I'm thinking $90k is a little optimistic for the ring.  An enterprising MGoBlogger should start a kickstarter campaign...  I'm thinking $15k might be enough to get it and send it over to Crisler

He's selling other championship rings between 1k and 9k. Its odd that this one is so much more. He may have accidentally made it 90k instead of 9k??

Practically all those rings in the 1K to 9K ranges are called Salesmen Samples.  Theyare the samples/duplicates of the actual rings given to the specific players.  Actual player rings worth a whole lot more, but 90K is way too high.

I think it's a good idea to invoke the MVictors eBay championship ring caveats here. We don't know how this ring got to where it is. Rumeal could have given it to somebody, it could have been lost or stolen and is now being resold, etc. etc.

Rumeal, largely by his own doing, has gotten himself in a lot of trouble over the years. But we don't know how this ring got here, and it's not right to jump to conclusions about how or why it is being sold.

A lot of those SB rings were not owned by the players. Most organizations hand out SB rings (usually with less jewels and whatnot) to everybody in the organization, including executives, assistants, trainers, etc. Some teams give out hundreds of rings. Hence, they do not fetch that much in the market. A ring liked this owned by a key player on the team is going to be worth much much more.

That he has had this thing, in his possession at any point during the last 10 years... meanwhile this guys has been either sitting on it, or whomever has been sitting on it for some time.
