Roundtree Flashback Illinois 2009

Submitted by Musthavehart on

Was anyone else a little nervous when we were down 7 in the second quarter and Denard had that pass to Roundtree that went for 75 yards....and then was caught and taken down at the 4. I for one, instantly had flashbacks to last year when he was caught at the one and then we failed to score.

Thank god for Stephen Hopkins who punched it in, but i just found it coincidental

I felt that Roundtree was engaged immediately after the catch in this years game, whereas last year he was caught from behind.  I was still worried, but I felt that Roundtree was really trying to get into the endzone this year.

I had flashbacks of fear for myself and my two kids who didn't remember last year's 4 shots from the one - they didn't remember b/c they were suiting up for trick or treating and I opted not to 'scare' them by telling what had happened...

Hopkins brought the healthy Minor Rage...loved it.

There must have been at least 5 published comments about that on the LiveBlog at the time.

I think our offense has improved so substantially from last year that I was fairly confident we'd score, but the thought did cross my mind.

looked like he was slowing down to have a conversation with the DB. Probably wanted to ask him to start following him on twitter or have tea or something, cause he definitely should have had no problem getting to the endzone.

I insantly turned to the people next to me and said "No way in HELL are we scoring a touchdown here".

I'm pretty sure that my reverse-jinx played a significant role in us scoring on the next play.
