Roundtree is clutch

Great game by Roy. Let Denard do his thing by providing a nice target and could always stretch to move the chains.

If he had caught that one that Denard placed beautifully into his hands in the endzone beforehand (in a previous series I mean), we probably wouldn't have had to have the near heart attack that Denard prevented with his pacemaking abilities.

I wouldn't say led him too much. The safety was on him pretty tight and Denard put it in a spot where he knew only his receiver could get it, and it did hit him on the fingertips. I'm not going to knock his play though, he showed some real tenacity holding on to the ball after some HUGE hits by ND on him. Roundtree is a trooper and I'd say our most sure handed receiver.

Roy played an amazing game, he had that drop though. Granted he had to adjust to the throw but if the ball hits your hands you should catch it. However, he was throwing sick blocks all game and averaged ten yards a catch so he had himself a good game all around.

He needs to do more for the #1. He needs to be a true #1 target all year. Not just a couple of games. Plus, Odoms was just as amazing and deciding for one over the other is impossible.

In either case Roundtree's block allowed Denard to go from gaining 25 yards to a 87 yard TD. That was the best play of the game by Roundtree!

Roundtree and Odoms quietly had solid games, in the shadow of Denard's greatness.

Hopefully he can work on his downfield passing in the next three weeks and get some deep balls to our receivers. That said, can't really ask for more than what we just saw. THAT said, if Denard learns how to do that, he just went from scary to unstoppable.

I was especially impressed with this kid today. After being injured-ish last week, he came back adn played a hell of a game. He had a crushing block on Denard's 87 yarder, as well as some other hell-yeah catches including 3rd and 5 on the 2 yard line. He caught 8 passes for 82 yards. Love it.

i actually thought odoms had the best day amongst the recievers. he was consistently able to take advantage of the cusion the db was giving him. i can only recall one time where he was targeted and didnt get the completion (and i believe he was open, it was just an off throw).

as for roundtree, i think he deserves some major props for continuing to run these blind routes where he cant anticipate the tackle coming, both over the middle and on fades, after getting laid out both last week and this week. there are a lot of big time (and bigger bodied) nfl recievers that are not so willing and fearless.

also that block by roundtree on the denard td run was money. that is something our offense severely lacked last yr. its obvious that downfield blocking from our recievers was a big point of emphasis in the off season.

if there is one criticism to have about denard's performances so far, it is that he needs to do a better job of protecting his recievers and not lay them out to dry. obviously that type of awareness will only come from experience tho. but i think the fact that denard continuously puts his body on the line with his runs, makes the recievers all the more willing to do the same.

Roundtree doesnt deserve the jersey until he makes the tough catches.

He had a couple nice grabs but as was already mentioned, he missed out on an absolutely gorgeous ball in the first quarter. Robinson placed it just over his shoulder and it went through his hands for a dropped touchdown. That catch is the kind of catch a reciever makes while wearing the #1 jersey.

If any Michigan reciever deserves it I would have to vote for Roundtree but I think he still has a little bit of work to put into his game before he is ready for it.
