Roster Question
Just curious,why did the Oliver Martin thread get deleted yesterday? I know most of the information was behind the Paywall, but if it was discussed openly in other places 2 days later I would think that is free game. Any thoughts? As fans we can speculate all we want about the roster especially when we know we are 2-3 over the limit. I think it is reasonable to talk about spring practice, fifth years seniors, early departures, and recruiting to fill out the roster. If I am off base, let me know.

I'd hate to see Martin leave before Gattis could work with him and implement the whole speed in space concept. If Hunter Renfroe can be a 'Bama killer, why can't Martin be a Buckeye killer?

1. I'm high on all of our receivers. I don't want any of them to leave. I think they can all be excellent.
2. Michigan's offense didn't throw the ball enough this year for all of them to be excellent. Even if they throw 10 more times a game, a huge number, there's a lot of targets to give to guys like DPJ, who could win a Biletnikoff and get picked in the top half of the first round if he's used well.
3. I wouldn't be surprised at all if a WR transfers. But I would be very sad.

We'll have to see how Gattis can work with the WR group, that's his forte is it not? Harbaugh has a keen eye for talent, he can't always obtain it, still he's always on the lookout.
Then after Brady wins another Super Bowl and retires, ideally he would come here and work with both the QBs and WRs. It's not NFL salary and would that even matter? Tom and Gisele should have saved wisely by now. Plus Gisele would no doubt be happy to have her man finally removed from CTE threat.

Not sure Gisele would be happy in Saline or Dexter, but I said the same thing about Jim in 2014.

I'm not sure where the idea comes from that Martin is some sort of washout because he wasnt All B1G in his redshirt freshman year. Martin played in 11 games, catching passes in 7 games, including games against Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Ohio State. He's not DPJ or Nico or Tarik Black right now, but he seems to be tracking as a guy who could a key piece as an upperclassmen, after guys like DPJ and Nico leave for the NFL (which could well be sooner, rather than later).

These kids today want instant gratification and want everything handed to them from day 1... Martin is a Soph and probably right where he should be. Next year he could have a huge part in what we do and the following year be te 1 or 2. If he leaves because he doesn’t want to work his Ass off and leave before he actually sticks to see why could of been then good bye dude!
I see this happen w kid after kid at all levels and it’s getting more the norm. And personally I think the Portal w go through some changes as it’s getting out of hand already. Kids are shopping themselves behind closed doors and it’s not a good thing people. Say what u will but bad things are coming for the NCAA and it’s gonna start a Fields and his BULLSHIT case. So basically 3 or more additional transfers. If we add a transfer or 2 ourselves, that number could rise. That's not a big number to me.
