For #Michigan fans curious about Jim Harbaugh: Booster Stephen Ross is much more interested in him at U-M than with #Dolphins

Please let this happen. We are so desperate for this guy. He has the brains, swag, and attitude that this program needs.

With the wishy-washiness of the prez on the direction of the program, having Ross say this might be big.

This program is far too big for Schillel to consider it an unnecessary nuissance. He shouldn't have taken the job if he didn't want to maintain the athletic program at an elite level. And, for all the board's consternation on the subject, I think this is mostly ado about nothing.

If they have an equitable, healthy relationship they will decide the best course of action for their family jointly. I doubt she has actually demanded they stay in the Bay area for ever, but I'm not going to blame anyone who would rather stay in the place they've lived in and raised their children in if possible. Coaching is nomadic, but Harbaugh has the rare ability to chose his next stop. The Raiders job happens to be open. That's a decision for the two of them to come to, and the thoughts and feelings of MGoUsers don't come into it.

I agree with you, except for your last sentence. The thoughts and feelings of MGoUsers do come into it, at least a little bit. Harbaugh having the passionate support of the Michigan fanbase would certainly make the job more appealing. If he was thought of as the compromise candidate, like Les Miles for example, the job would lose at least a little bit of appeal. I know he's a focused guy who probably doesn't put a lot of stock in what fans think, but in the end the fans are what makes the NFL and big time college football...big time. They matter, especially fans that frequent possibly the most influential fansite in college sports.

Perhaps he can bring Charles Woodson with him to coach the secondary. Charles has to be ready to retire after this year, and he doesn't have a new gig yet, as far as we know, plus what defensive back recruit would not want to play for Charles? I think you'd see Taylor and Crawford crying to get back into this class.

Sorry Nick. All BS. Telling me a lady married a major football coach (and one that moved because his father was a coach) and would figure they would never move? Sorry -- I'm going to give her a little more credit. I'm standing with my original opinion that this is a pile of crap. And any reporter that continues this BS should provide actual quotes, etc.

Here's to hoping that Ross's willingness to say this, now, is an indication that Schlissel's public comments about long-term timeframes are just a smokescreen for behind-the-scenes stuff going on. That this is a window into the true thinking of the administration. Come home Jim...

Hopefully Florida doesn't call him.  With Schlissel singing the "I have no idea what's going to happen" tune and the Hoke crowd forecasting the fantasy of winning out in order to buy Hoke some time, hopefully that doesn't give Florida a legit chance to scoop Harbaugh up from beneath us.
