I'll be rooting for IU simply for the reason that we get to play them again. Well, that and the fact they're playing Ohio.
P.S. You'd better change your title before everyone starts busting your chops.

I hate ND and Ohio. I will never cheer for them. Both of them can fall off the map. Go Hoosiers.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:04 AM ^
hate them
February 8th, 2013 at 6:51 AM ^
routes for 23 south to I-80, with I-75 as a 3:1 underdog.
February 8th, 2013 at 7:10 AM ^
on traffic and time of day of course... The best route... Wait what was this thread about?
February 8th, 2013 at 6:53 AM ^
When it comes to conference record, both Michigan and Indiana are 8-2, so from a sheer win/loss standpoint, an Indiana loss helps us in the conference and likely in the polls too. That being said, I will also be cheering for Indiana in that game because my mind is unable to process cheering for their opponent somehow.
February 8th, 2013 at 7:02 AM ^
I'm just going to ignore the game and rationalize the result as a positive regardless. We are in the drivers seat now so as long as we take care of business nothing else matters.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:17 AM ^
...this approach. Won't root for either team. Will evaluate outcome at its conclusion.
February 8th, 2013 at 6:58 AM ^
This is the best route.
February 8th, 2013 at 9:25 AM ^
Which route gives US a better path to the title?
February 8th, 2013 at 7:13 AM ^
I prefer a Dewalt plunge router. Really does a nice job of routing.
February 8th, 2013 at 7:18 AM ^
I will be "rootong" for IU
February 8th, 2013 at 7:18 AM ^
Rootong? I think the edit needs a rewrite.
February 8th, 2013 at 7:19 AM ^
I don't have any idea what to do with this.

Rootong?

Now, which outcome is most beneficial.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:01 AM ^
Glad you got to the root of the issue
February 8th, 2013 at 7:31 AM ^
IMO best outcome for M is if Ohio and Indiana split their 2 match-ups. Both get one more conference loss, and reduces the possiblity of a title tie.
February 8th, 2013 at 7:45 AM ^
The most likely path for this is for both teams to lose on the road. Therefore, I am hoping IU losses on Saturday.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:47 AM ^
But if I actually watch the game, I'm sure each Indiana make / Ohio miss will bring a moment of happiness.
Go <<Michigan B1G Title Maximizing Outcome>>. Which at this stage is the home team of any match up involving two of Indiana, MSU, OSU, & Wiscy. I think.

Hoosiers
February 8th, 2013 at 7:47 AM ^
Indiana isn't winning this game. So, I doubt I'll be watching much of it.
Either team losing helps us. They play each other in Bloomington next week as well.
February 8th, 2013 at 7:48 AM ^
Rooting for the Hoosiers, whether strategic or not. More pain for Ohio, please.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:08 AM ^
I am rooting for OSU to rout Indiana, which I believe will put Michigan en route to the BIG title.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:19 AM ^
I know that's a cop out. But if Michigan wins out, they win the B1G Championship.
That's what I'm rooting for.
But I don't care who wins this game any more than I care who wins a PSU/Nebraska game.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:20 AM ^
we already split with Ohio, is it best for them to take both games against Indiana just in case we get swept by Indiana? Or Is a split in their series better for us to win the B1G?
Also, Go Hoosiers.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:21 AM ^
This isn't football, most OSU hoop fans are okay. An Indiana loss helps us more. Not that it matters but I think Crean is a total jerk and so are Shehee and Olidipshit. Craft is annoying to play against but like Burke he keeps his mouth shut. Root for the home team.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:48 AM ^
in the Value City Arena?
February 8th, 2013 at 11:49 AM ^
I think you are overestimating the number of alumni.
February 9th, 2013 at 5:45 AM ^
No their fans are just As bad when it comes to basketball. For example...... My husband and I were on a walk after Michigan lost to Ohio and 3 idiot Ohio fans driving down the road yell at us " who won that game?? Go Blow". Yea, perfect strangers. They are just As bad. You live in Ohio your dislike for them starts to run deep. I root for any team that plays them in any sport:) we've been harassed enough to not root against them. I can't tell you how many times we've been told we have sh*t on our shirts by people we don't even know.
With that said Hoo hoo Hoosiers:)
February 8th, 2013 at 8:25 AM ^
The more important question is do we root for Michigan to somehow not end up as #1 next week to avoid the curse of #1 teams against State?
February 8th, 2013 at 8:31 AM ^
the regular season championship. I will gladly accept it alone or as a tie, but I will trade it right now for the B1G tournament championship. I am really glad that it is not in Indy this year. But I predict one more loss (at MSU?) in the regular season, a final four loss in the B1G tournament, and then clear sailing through the NCAA's!

We don't need Indiana getting any big road wins.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:47 AM ^
in order to predict the Big10 Tournament. This is definitely the year the person who knows nothing about basketball wins the office pool.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:49 AM ^
If we are meant to be B1G champs this year, the guys will have to play like it. Never root for Ohio, ever. Go IU.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:52 AM ^
They aren't really a threat to our B1G title hopes. And being in Bloomington Saturday made me really hate IU, fans, lack of Zeller fouls, and oladipo dunk especially...
February 8th, 2013 at 9:04 AM ^
I want Indiana to lose.
- It helps Michigan more (Indiana has a better record.)
- I really want Indiana to continue to struggle on the road. The knock on them is they can't win without Bloomington home cooking refs. Let this continue.
- Indiana fans care about it more, hence, more schadenfreude. Ohio fans know this is a bit of a down year. They just are a step behind Michigan. Having said that, to knock off Indiana in Columbus keeps the home team winning, and makes it more difficult for Indiana.
However, this does not mean I will root for Ohio. In terms of rooting interest, I am merely a dispassionate observer.
At the end of the day, this is as good as it gets . . . someone has to lose, and someone will feel a lot of pain. I don't care who.
February 8th, 2013 at 8:56 AM ^
Ohio State, without question.
Didn't expect their fans to be such assholes, but myself and a friend went down to the game last Saturday in Bloomington, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they're up there with the worst fan bases I've ever encountered, and I grew up in the Lansing area. Just completely awful people, and I'm not basing this on a small sample size, it happened a lot throughout the day. Who gets in someone's face just walking down the street and says "fuck you guys", or "get the fuck out of our town"? Also, grown ass men wearing those IU warm up sweat pants in public.
Couple the way they treat complete strangers for wearing the wrong team colors with a loss helping us in the standings, and I know where I'm at this weekend.
And yes, I know Ohio State fans also suck. I'm on a bit of recency bias here, but fuck IU, forever.
February 8th, 2013 at 9:15 AM ^
Need another Indiana lose. Only way we control our own destiny.
February 8th, 2013 at 9:37 AM ^
We play IU again this season, so with things being tied right now we already control our own destiny.
