Looks like Roku and Fox came to their collective senses.

Here's the email from Roku:

Dear Roku Customer,

We are delighted that we reached an agreement to distribute FOX channels on the Roku platform. This Sunday, you can stream the Super Bowl for free through FOX Now and FOX Sports as well as the NFL channel.

We hope you enjoy the game!

Happy Streaming™

Here's to hoping it's a fun game to watch, cheers!

Love the way they say you can stream it "for free".  Like that 1 business in the neighborhood that advertises "free parking", when nobody else in the vicinity charges for it.

It seems like this happens whenever a provider and a network need to negotiate a new contract. Inevitably, the provider ends up paying more than the previous contract and the costs get dumped onto the consumers.

It seems hard to justify spending more and more for content considering the supply of content has dramatically increased over the years. In sports they’re milking their viewers for all they can and it will cause major problems down the road as the younger generations have little incentive to care about sports.
