Seattle Mariner 2nd baseman former NY Yankee
It's a big loss for the Mariners. He was a huge part of a pretty good team.
Huge part because he was taking PEDs
Players cheat and use performance enhancing drugs. Players have always cheated and used performance enhancing drugs. There is no bygone era of yester year to yearn for and shit over current generations for doing.
Right you are. This is a good history of steroid usage in sports. In addition to baseball's well-known PED problems, most of the NFL was using steroids in the 70s and 80s, and usage began in the early 60s.
just dropped him from my fantasy team
He got suspended for taking a diuretic which is a banned substance, but not a PED. You should correct your title OP.
Also people vastly overrate the impact of performance enhaing drugs. With millions of dollars on the line you take every advantage you can get but a large portion of banned substance are actually focused way more around recovery and injury prevention and don't actually make you better at a sport. Obviously recovery matters but iits not making you a more accurate 3 pt shooter or a better passer, etc.
When Caminiti won MVP while juicing he said his biggest advantage was that every day felt like opening day. So much of the drug use in baseball is around recovery and stimulants (greenies in the coffee) because it’s so important to performance. The advantage is undeniably huge.
if any MGODOCs think crazy parents may be giving actual PEDs and HGH to recruits and younger kids.
Would that even work?
I didn't realize he was even still playing baseball
It was only a diuretic he tested positive for but he probably was using that to mask something. Oh well I liked when Bonds and Mark were hitting homeruns baseball was at least a little fun to watch when the Tigers weren't good.
Cane him 80 times?
Are you Captain of The Terror?
One up vote for the tv reference, to which I am watching.
Cano is no Sandberg .....
I don't watch or care. Ill watch my hometown squad in the playoffs and may watch a World Series elimination game.
