Rob Gray trash talking Poole before the shot

"Yo Poole where you from?" Gray asked.

Poole winced, gritted his teeth and spit a response.

"That's nice," Gray said. "You 'bout to go back to Milwaukee."

The rest is history. Go Blue.

Yeah, that's some pretty weak trash talking there. We were way more vicious in my day around my way. Anything in your personal life. Brothas did research. We would talk about your momma as a matter of course.

Prior to a match:

Esterhaus, you thinking of going to college?

Not after I crack open your head today.

I beat him anyway. Talk is cheap. Just play the game.

everyone was trash talking.  If Wagner was not on our team I'm pretty sure I'd hate him every time he was on the floor lol.  It's part of the game and a hell of a game that was at the end...

kinda weirded me out in the final mins.     Not gonna say anything bad about a child, but was just weird.    Rob did impress me tho, and players like him are great for the game!   In the moment tho, I think even most of us thought the run was over, so the comments are not really surprising.    But god bless Poole and the shot will be one of my favorite memories of Michigan basketball for years to come!

What, you still throwing up bricks? What is this, a Masons convention? Wha... clank, clank! I need, like, a welding torch to play in this league! I got an idea... let's just stop right now and gather up all these bricks and let's build a shelter for the homeless so maybe your mother will have a place to live!

That's an interesting version of trash talking too. I'll try some variants of it this week:

"So, how's thw weather back home?"

"Eh, cold but dry."

No, actually I don't think I will.

I had not watched that shot yet today.  Now after 13 more times I might be good for a few hours.  You cannot really see the smack talk on CBS footage.  Still a great story.  Do More, Say Less.

In person Gray was jawing all game. When his team messed up, he was visibly frustrated with them. He was actively trying to get in everyone's head except Z. Didn't seem to be saying much to him.

I’m bringing Darrell to the meeting. He’s my friend.

Tbh-cool post. Love that Poole kept it cool and sent THEM home. Awesome. UM basketball is riding sky high

Keep it clean and it makes the games so much better.

I was telling my buddies at half time if i were anyone guarding Gray i would be in his ear all day about that haircut from 3 years ago.
