I have seen him play nearly every home game the last 3 years.  He is a beast.  He is more of a LB/FB type, but this year he was the best West Ottawa had to go with at QB - strong arm and pretty accurate.  He also is surprizingly fast, and seems to like carrying several opponents on his back into the endzone.  He's been banged up (shoulder I think) part of this year so was out some, especially at LB where he shines, in one of the toughest conferences in MI.  He is smart and it shows on the field - seems to know where to be (been told he's a 4.0 student).  He seems to be back at full strength for the playoffs- at Grand Haven Fri night!

want recruits that will play like seniors right away... Of course, some recruits need time to mature, gain some strength, etc...

And in this case, one can question whether he might already be able to play like the senior lbs we have...

My school played against his school in conference play (I was at the game) and he is the talk of conference right now. He is the main reason WO is as good as they are this year.

FWIW, he is a very good athlete because a friend of mine played hockey against him and said he is really good and that he hits like a truck on ice.

I was thinking about this -- assuming he was born a year or so after Desmond Howard won the Heisman, what are the chances his parents are UM fans this Desmond was named after that one? Just a coincidence?

...was that as a LB, when he isn't shedding blocks, he tends to smack the FB that blocks him as if HE is the FB. So, at that point, the FB is going backwards and he has free reign to get the RB.

I know it's just High School. It just intrigues me cause he's from the town I was born and raised.

I  Know Desmond and I coached at West Ottawa before I moved to Illinois 2 years ago. Des is a great kid!!! He is a good athlete and has a nose for the ball. He is a tough kid and brings the wood every play against  top competiton.. He needs to continue to work on his speed but he is a very hard worker nad very smart. He will bring things to Michigan that you can't teach. He should be able to contribute on special teams early. He is a Michigan fan and I am happy for him. He will be a great additon to Michigan if he commits. He is also from the same school as All American Rob Renes.

I've watched 4 games @ west ottawa this year and I gotta say. This kid is the real deal.

He's one of those that I dont care what his 40 time is, he's football fast with excellent reflexes and strength even greater than his size. Blue should pursue this with vigor because he's a real character guy too.

I don't know a whole lot about him, but think about it.  Penn State seems to always make good linebackers because they know how to play the position, they may not have the best 40 time or bench press 225 35 times, but it does seem that we need guys that just have good football instincts on the defensive side of the ball.  bring him in!!

He was injured when he played my school this year, so I don't think he played any defense, but he was running over our linebackers and D-line all day long. Very strong kid, and pretty fast too.
