RIP Don Diamond
Don Diamond, 90, a veteran character actor best known for playing the sidekick El Toro in the 1950s TV series "The Adventures of Kit Carson" and Crazy Cat in the 1960s TV sitcom "F Troop," died June 19.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 4, 1921, Diamond graduated from the University of Michigan, where he studied drama and Spanish. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II
I vividly remember my Grandparents always watching re-runs of the Adventures of Kit Carson, and I always had to watch with them. After a while it grew on me. Don Diamond, a University of Michigan graduate had a very successful film career, and he did a great job in the Adventures of Kit Carson.
In the same article it is noted that Nick Charles ... CNN's first sports anchor passed away yesterday. Nick Charles covered all sports from professional to college for CNN.
RIP Don Diamond and Nick Charles

Two RIP posts in a row. Really killing my buzz.
It could be worse. It could have been Dustin Diamond.
Making a joke out someone's death is pretty tasteless.
Edit: Meant this as a reply to WileyinA2
Lighten up Francis...
That's sad. At least he lived a long and interesting life. RIP.
Sorry he died. How obscure an completely off topic are we allowed to get on this bad boy?
MGObituary blog now?
this is like the links on CNN.com were random people you vaguely remember who passed each get there own little write up to remind you of their lives work.
I realize it's June, but two in a row is a bit much. No disrespect to the deceased intended, there just is a place for this kind of stuff and I'm not sure mgo is the spot.
Just my $0.02.
I think the Fred Steiner thread is more OT, because he had no university affiliation.
This is OnTopic per the FAQ: University of Michigan topics that don't relate to sports
I remember Don Diamond in old time shows I watched with my Grandparents, and he's a successful University of Michigan Graduate, who also served our country during the war. I was just paying respects to a Successful and honorable Michigan graduate who passed way ... this would count as a University of Michigan topic that doesn't relate to sports.
Not trying to pull out the claws here, but in support of my last point, does this mean that every time a michigan grad dies, we post?
I have yet to be on a forum or message board that at one time or another wasn't overrun with death threads.....
When I get my next UMAlumni magazine I'm going to go through the memorial section and start a new thread for each person.
