I think everyone had a crush on her. She was magnficent. Their first album was the very first one I gave to my daughter. It was actually a cassette tape, and she still has it.  It was a Christmas gift, and I'll never forget that Christmas because we listened to "Linger" all day. We chatted about it yesterday and our sadness over the news. It was like a little piece of our lives had been extinguished.
R.I.P. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

If you did your college in the early 1990s, there is a fair chance you had their first couple albums or knew someone who did.

That was a great transition time in music.

Radio was still huge and it was branching out to find different audiences rather than consolidating and dying like today.

They had a unique sound and her voice made it even more unique yet.

It was one of my daughter's first favorites as well. She was enthralled with the Zombie music video--I think it was the kids running around as much as anything else.

Later she succumbed to peer pressure and liked the Spice Girls, but she, thankfully, grew out of that after a year or two.

RIP Dolores.

Very sad, she had such a unique and beautiful voice.  I was going to school at Michigan (law school) when the Cranberries were at their peak.

I believe Cranberries were my first album. Was a tween and liked just about anything, especially if it was alternative / counterculture. Til this day I had no idea the Cranberries being your first album wasn't something to sort of be embarrassed about. Or maybe premature deaths change the perception.

This is not a band of my “prime”. I’m 58. But I love the Cranberries. Once in a while the aches and pains of being this old and trying to remain physically active force me to take drastic action: an ice bath. Lot of people will play some soothing spa-type music to quiet the screaming agony of the coldness. Not me. I go with a 15 minute set that features Zombie. Kill the cold with energy.

I was 31 when the Cranberries '94 album no need to argue came out. They were a good pop-rock band and were a good fit into the 90s alt rock genre, which is much better than what is considered alt rock no a days. 46 is way too young die, makes you start to think life is short, especially after a lot of the 90s lead rock singers are now dead.

Always loved the accent.  Too many Irish and British singers try to mask their accents, but Delores never did and I appreciated her for it.  RIP.
