RichRodVision video: Tunnel vision, seeing eye ears & 3 species of feces

Submitted by Honk if Ufer M… on

The highlights or lowlights depending on your perspective: Admits to “tunnel vision” in not seeing the Bo/Lloyd factions. “There was a lot more “droughtside” drama that I shoulda had my eyes and ears out there seein'” I think he may have just invented the seeing eye ear. That could put a lot of seeing eye dogs drought of business! He said all of Bo's boys were on his side & singled out Leach and the Dufek's as some of the terrific people he met here. I'll second that emotion on the Dufek's. (Don't know Leach but I'm sure he's great too)

Very briefly admits to unnamed mistakes of his own, but mostly it was everyone else's fault.
“I talked a little differently, I gotta little hillbilly twang n all that”

NCAA Violations still make him mad and leave him bitter & spurred discussion of 3 varieties of excrement from 3 separate species, “a bunch of BS” as well as “Mousecrap“ vs. “elephant stuff”

He “missed the practices and meetings more than the games, the games are fun, but they're more fun for the players” Holy shit, he even has tunnel vision in hindsight! The games were fun? Which RichRod tenure was he recalling, the one that actually happened? Even most of his wins were excruciatingly painful struggle-y error filled slogs against teams that should be smothered by Michigan!

In this one particular case I think we can thank our Drupel Overlords for saving us from the shitstorm of comments this thread topic would certainly generate.

It's long past time to let the RR era at Michigan fade into the sunset.  For whatever reason, it didn't work out.  RR-related threads always turn into a flamefest.  He's not the current coach or the most recently departed coach and still spending bandwidth on his tenure makes Michigan fans sound poorly.

I don't think any coach could have attained longterm success under DB.  I am thrilled with the current coach and cautiously optimistic about the AD.  Michigan football is solidly trending in a positive direction for the first time in a very long time.

You guys are on crack, I have no issue with "letting it go." I never talk about RR unless someone else brings it up or it's relevant in context to something. In this case somebody else posted a link to a different article on that site and I saw the RR story on the same page and it was dated 6-15-15, which you might notice is todays date. I guess you guys are the ones who won't let RR go since you seem to know every detail about him and all knew about this interview already. Since I didn't go out of my way to follow most of the gossip and soap opera, or follow every whine or excuse he wanted to make this interview was new to me. There was no indication it was an old interview and it just seemed like for whatever reason RR popped up with a new bunch of stuff to say about Michigan so it seemed as relevant as half the stuff here and more relevant than a lot of stuff here.

Furthermore, in my short time here people bring up RR all the time, which I pretty much never do. "Let it go," criticizing me for dredging it up, accusing me of trying to stir shit up, are all bullshit, intellectually dishonest posts. What most of you really mean is you don't like my opinions of him, of his comments & of  his coaching at Michigan. Few of these comments are made when someone is positive about him.

There is continual "dredging up of the past" here, good memories and bad. Constant lamentations of old things gone wrong, from plays, to games, to seasons, to players to coaches. I guess we shouldn't talk about Bo anymore either since he's not just the old coach, but the old, old, old, old, old coach in your terms.

The idea that someone would want to ban me for this post, especially in light of everything else that goes on along with my posting history is literally insane! If I should be banned for this then the proportional punishment for suggesting I be banned would be to have you shot!

Did you really use the "I only talk about RR when other people talk about RR" excuse for a post you created yourself?

Also, it may be today's date, and I haven't seen the video, but from what you wrote there is literally no new information. Water is still wet.

EDIT: From what I've read below the video itself isn't new either.

It's not an excuse you clown, when you say I need to let it go the you imply I have an axe to grind or an obsession or that I keep posting about it, but that's not the case, I don't go out of my way to talk about him, it's a fact. I gave the specific and explicit reasons why this one time, yes, I brought up a RR topic, but even so it wasn't because I felt it was time to post about him it was because I mistakenly thought this was a new interview which I had never heard before and that this and his comments were definitely thread worthy.

This video is almost two years old.  I don't know wtf "DIEHARD SPORT" is, but if they're in the habit writing stories about eighteen month old YouTube videos, I hope to never see a link to that site again.

He is a good coach that managed to have every possible land mine blow up in his face here.

He made mistakes and had chances to get signature wins, but it never happened.

The way he was treated by the media here was a disgrace, especially considering you had another program in the state with half their team assaulting students and picking up players from jail and putting them into games. But yeah, that was cool because the media was busy arguing with RR about fucking team GPAs.

What I do know is Michigan did not need to go through all this bullshit to get to this point.  The majority of this was self-inflicted.

I don't know if RR would have had a good record in 2011, but I do know he is a better coach than Hoke.

Come on man, this thing is from 2013 fergod...nevermind.

That being said, it's still disapointing how so many people from the Lloyd years reacted. Like RR said, most of Bo's guys were great.

Then again we had Dave Brandon running the show near then end as well, so it was pretty much doomed.

Just glad to be where we are now.
