Richard Ash *official*
We have confirmed the report that Pahokee, Fla., four-star defensive tackle Richard Ash will be making his official visit to Michigan for the Nov. 21 weekend.
Per Rivals
I had no idea he was still interested in us. This is awesome, I don't know how much of a chance we have at him, with the pahokee boys as his recruiting guides and the OSU game here's hoping.

Yeah, I was working on getting a hold of him. It looks like he'll be there. I'll let you know when I talk to him about his interest, and all that.

I def like that news. I had no idea either. Haven't heard anything about him I think since this past summer. Hopefully he follows more of an Odom's route and not so much of the Nu'keese route.

game for recruits. here's hoping for a good on the field result....

also good results from the stands. I was at the Penn State game and the fans were pretty weak. Here's hoping we bring a little of the ND atmosphere and not so much from psu. Obviously people wouldn't be into it by the end, but I was very surprised it wasn't all that loud at the beginning of the game. If we can pick off Wisky this weekend our guys will go into that one w/ pretty much no pressure and a lot more excitement among the fans.

I know what you mean, but it's hard to have a loud/excited crowd when we're getting our asses handed to us.

for the find. He would be welcomed with open arms.

It would be nice to get either him or Beachum, or both.

Richard Ash is a beast. On par with Floyd.

Can he get into Michigan with a 2.5 GPA and a 16 ACT score? (Apparently, he's retaking the ACT). I'm sure he'll pass the clearing house, but even the athletes have to have the grades necessary to get into certain schools... no?
November 12th, 2009 at 4:29 PM ^
and get through the NCAA clearinghouse. There are NO special requirements to get into Michigan.
Also, bit of a lame move posting the kids grades and stuff here. If I were him, I wouldn't want that laundry washed in public. Let us be a little considerate of these kids..after all Fred Roh posted only yesterday that all recruits have internet too!
November 12th, 2009 at 5:21 PM ^
or not but I'm going to assume the latter. His grades and ACT scores are posted on his recruiting profile at scout and rivals so I don't see how it's inconsiderate to post them on here.

It's nice to hear some good recruiting news. Let's just hope the team parties like it's 1969 that day.

this is awesome news. it is obvious that rich rod is really putting an emphasis on getting bigger up front defensively. he is quickly picking up on what it takes to win in the big10. he is a very smart, perceptive coach. i have always believed that. similarly, offensively, he is starting to learn what does and what does not work in a real league. he is a true innovator. that is why we hired him.
November 12th, 2009 at 5:30 PM ^
Hopefully the Pahokee connection will work, and the coaches can get him interested in Michigan. Would be a huge get if we could swing em.'
November 12th, 2009 at 5:55 PM ^
WTF WHERE ARE THE 5 STARS?
November 12th, 2009 at 10:50 PM ^
RICH ROD CAN'T BE SUCCESSFUL IN BIG TEN WITH RINKY-DINK OFFENSE RUN BY 3 STARS! OFFENSE WORK IN BIG EAST, NOT BIG TEN! HE DOESN'T GET TRADITION!!! 5 STARS ONLY JUST LIKE NCAA 10!
November 12th, 2009 at 6:35 PM ^
Is it a requirement to have dreads if you play for Pahokee?
just sayin...
November 12th, 2009 at 8:06 PM ^
No it's not.
But it is a requirement if you want to be a starter.
November 12th, 2009 at 11:09 PM ^
i dont think scout updates their offer sheet very much because it also shows that we havent offered michael thornton
November 13th, 2009 at 6:19 PM ^
That would make more sense than a false offer report from Rivals

I would love to land Ash. Here's hoping the trip to A2 blows him away.
I'm thankful the kid is going to give us a full look. To even have a chance is a huge plus.

Great news! Just in time to make tracking the Muck Bowl tomorrow night more interesting.

I love these Pahokee kids! Something about coming up with nothing makes them appreciate this place. They play tough.
Just look at Vincent Smith! He plays like he's six foot four.
