Reddit Risk front page article
I can't comment on the cover page article (can anyone?), but I finally caved, created a reddit account and took my marching orders.
Anything else I should be doing to try and be more helpful?
Reddit Risk is emotionally sensitive stuff with mass opportunity for disrespectful commenting. Post was locked-down immediately.
War is always political.
I hear it's just an extension of politics by other means.
I merely ask out of interest and mean no disrespect to the Risk players here. I'm not a redditor, but love the original game.
But if the powers that be know its a mass opportunity for negative comments and locked-down right away....couldn't that be a sign that its not really a great Front Page post?
It turns out Seth just forgot to click the "allow comments" link. So no conspiracy.
I did too. Hail.
I'm in too. How many times can I attack in one day?
Just once. Assignments are usually posted early in the morning, so check the assignments site tomorrow to get your marching orders.
thanks
Go Blue!
Will increasing our individual ratings help us win?
Yes. Significantly. The stars are disproportionately weighted so that playing regularly, and posting on Reddit/cfb are rewarded.
(I know, I know, Reddit. But college football rivalries plus combinatorics!)
Love the game. Hate Reddit. Limits my usefulness.
I hate myself for playing along
I hate myself for loving you.
I just popped my cherry and created an account! GO BLUE! Love this stupid form of RISK btw.
I'll pitch in just as soon as someone delivers some oars to the boat that I'm cuuently sitting on- hundreds of miles off of the coast of Kamchatka.
That sounds like an unusual amount of oar-work - not sure you will have the energy to contribute.
Been doing my best for a few weeks now, always enjoy when I wake up and my "get an order" is to attack or defend against OSU territory.
Done.
What is the weird black team with the strange symbol? It doesn't look like any college football team I know.......
CHAOS TEAM. No not mid-Aughts Indiana, but a collection of schools who have been knocked out already.
Dorf.
This U-M/OSU risk battle = the Ten-Year War, version 2.0
I don't mind the game, but I do honestly wonder how CFB risk actually ends.
It ends abruptly July 3rd, leader takes all.
Reddit. Come for the racism, bigotry, misogyny, nativism, and bullying. Stay for the family board games.
Fuck Ohio State. Eliminate them
How do we get a Reddit posbang going to get everyone’s karma (and therefore star rating) higher?
The best thing any one person can do is get yourself to three star status in ten days.
1. "Explore all the links"
2. Take a turn attacking some heathens from OSU, Alabama or Nebraska every single day for ten days, by playing your assignment.
3. Participate meaningfully on r/cfb by commenting on threads started by others. Upvotes on those comments get you karma, and 500 total karma (upvotes) gets you three stars.
Three star status is disproportionately stronger than one or two stars, so make it happen.
