Recruiting/Jordan Payton documentary

Submitted by michigan14 on

I am a sophomore at UM, and am part of a team working on a 4 part documentary that follows the recruitment and senior season of 3 elite, top 150 athletes, one of whom is top Michigan target Jordan Payton. As avid recruiting followers, I hope and think you guys will enjoy the documentary, as the goal is to give an inside look on what recruiting is really like for the athletes. Furthermore, as Michigan fans, you'll get a chance to closely follow the recruitment of Jordan Payton, who lists Michigan as his leader. Here's a link to the trailer, and if there is interest I'll provide updates as we get closer to the release of part 1. Thanks.

no, we have been very careful to not commit any violations that would put the athletes at risk, which included contacting all schools involved with their recruitment and not filming any contact with college coaches which is a violation (what got Lane Kiffin in trouble at UT, or one of many things).

Just because everyone involved in the project is from Los Angeles so it was just more accesible for us. Down the line we would love to feature athletes from other states. The people interviewed are Jared Sullinger, Drue Holliday, and Mike Dunleavy Sr. just fyi. We really want to do a good job of showing what the recruiting process is really like, so any feedback or suggestions are appreciated.

I liked it so far and will be looking forward to watching the other parts.

I just asked about the California thing because I'm especially familiar with Mater Dei since I grew up in OC.  I'll be looking for Xavier Johnson when they show those games on tv.

Looks great. Can't wait to check this out. It's a great concept too.

Recruiting really is amazing. These kids all of a sudden got so much attention. It's easy to understand why so many of them want to commit early and get the process over with.

I don't know if it is something with my headphones or it might be by design, but the music comes in on one side and the recruits speaking on the other.  Not sure if it is a big deal without headphones, just though I'd let you know.

I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be awesome and hilarious if a fan decided to make a documentary of a recruit just to get him to come to UM?" I mean, it takes some rounding up, but that's what's going on here.
